A. Lange & S?hne Datograph Perpetual Watch New For SIHH 2015
The A. Lange & S?hne Datograph, a watch I am very fond of, gets some new additions for SIHH 2015, including a version of the Datograph in 18k rose gold as well as this A. Lange & S?hne Datograph Perpetual which adds a perpetual calendar to the chronograph, date, and power reserve complications. When I last visited the newer 41mm wide sized version of this German beauty, I reviewed the platinum A. Lange & S?hne Datograph Up/Down here.A. Lange & S?hne is setting themselves up for a long line of Datograph Perpetual watches (down the line) with this 2015 version in a 41mm wide 18k white gold case and matte gray dial. Of course, the A. Lange & S?hne Datograph Perpetual doesn't have the sublime simplicity of the original Datograph or more modern Datograph Up/Down, but it does increase the ante by adding the various calendar complications. This isn't an entirely new movement either, but rather adapted to the needs of bringing a bit more to the popular Datograph collection.
Incoming! First Royal Oak!
...unfortunately, not a Royal Oak for myself! When I first met my gf (back in 2007/8), I noticed she only had a Swatch, and wanted to get her a more 'proper' watch, so to speak. No better way than to start it off with a Seiko...Two years ago, for her birthday, I bought her something which made her really happy! But earlier this week, I think this one put a really, really, really big smile on her face Now, I'd been looking for a Lady Royal Oak for the longest time ever, and finally found one from a AD in the US. Unfortunately, the watch had some imperfections and I requested it be sent back to AP for some rectification. After a two month wait, I finally heard that AP didn't have the necessary parts, and the AD was not able to provide me with an estimate timeline when I would be able to finally purchase the watch. This one is a quartz, and an interim one, but I can tell she's happy nevertheless. Now, it is time for me to start saving up for a 15300...
My new addition... a Petite Tapisserie
My first watch in 2013, and the ONE that will calm my itch for a long while...After looking at thousands of photos and handling many different versions of ROO, my heart always goes back to this 25721ST. Perhaps it is its status as the first ROO, or the mesmerizing blue dial, or the petite tapisserie pattern, or the applied AP logo, or the luminous stick markers, or the integrated bracelet... This classical piece extremely versatile and is the perfect ROO to me in every way. I'm really happy and contented to have added this one as my new beater.
Nice gift from AD
Hi allMy AD contacted me to collect a letter mentioning my free PP service. When I went to collect the letter he gave me a gift, a lovely PP wallet! It really is gorgeous!Given that I have purchased the watch some time ago, I thought that was a lovely gesture. During a chat he mentioned it was his wife's birthday during Easter so to show my gratitude for all his help with my 5167 I gave him a gift of a Gourmet dining experience for two. I hope he chooses his wife to take with him LOL. CheersAnujSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Just dropped my PAM off for its first service
I just dropped of my PAM00312 for its first service though the Panerai boutique. I was quoted $300 over the phone for a full maintenance, but when I got to the boutique, I was told (by someone else) that it would be around $600 for the full service. Does this sound about right? I wanted to make sure they would be able to polish the scratches out of the bezel, which they said they could and it would be in pristine condition, but I'm throwing around the idea of just getting a replacement bezel for an additional $150.
