How To Mix And Match Colors With Your Watch, Like A Man
There is a kind of watch owner out there commonly referred to as the One watch guy'. Whether due to sentimental attachment, thrift or a single-minded love of a specific reference, they strap on the same timepiece day after day regardless of the rest of their attire or the social situations the day will bring.I have deep admiration for the One Watch Guy' to doggedly ignore or remain oblivious to the ocean of horological possibilities is darn difficult - though it does simplify the morning routine - but I will never be him, I love watches too much, my tastes are too wide, the acquisitive urge too strong and maybe I am just too indecisive. That said, being the Way Too Many Watches Guy' allows their owner to play a different game, that of using your watch purely as an accessory to the rest of your outfit. I think the decision to get it re-dialed and in black was a good one (I'm not selling it, so re-sale wasn't a consideration) even though it is a big no-no in the purist community. Plus, black and gold is an incredible combination, along with a new black leather strap. Now the bad. There is a piece of lint and some specs of dirt trapped under the crystal. Some visible with the nekked eye. The stem was rubbing against the case and binding, so I had to bend it to take out the wobble. He used a cheap, generic gold tone crown (watch is solid 14K). He buffed out the hands and didn't re-lume it, so It doesn't match the re-lume of the dial (was expecting new hands!). It loses 30 secs / day. So, to say the least, it was a sloppy job all around. He couldn't eve
