Casio Dee & Ricky G-Shock GA110DR-1A Watch
When I first learned about this new Dee & Ricky limited edition G-Shock watches, I was like WTF?! Not that I would wear it, but I can appreciate the culture that created it. The watch design really started in the 1980s, though the designs may not be aware of that. It was the time of Lego and bright colors, and when wearing wild hues was fashionable until the mid 1990s (when thankfully florescent colors went out). The lineage of the style also is related to 8 bit gaming. Nintendo brought bright colors before our eyes on a daily basis in blocky glory. This watch is the summation of an entire pop culture generation. Nerds with focus, geeks with passion.? Designers Dee & Ricky are New York born twins who are self taught and highly inspired by their youth. If this watch is at all questionable to you, then simply view the video they made below with direct and video artist Kenzo Digital (which will appeal to all Lego and G-Shock fans). Don't worry, the Casio part of it comes in later
Planet Ocean on Fathers Day
It's not his quite yet, but never too soon to try on!
New PAM?
Thinking about picking up one of the following. Any thoughts from the group are appreciated! 372, 422, 510 or 514. Wrists are 7.25 but kinda feel the 47mm is a bit big. Really like the 510 but love the brownish dials, markings of the others. Good problem to have, I know. Thanks! Any wrist shots are welcome.
Need advice on Explorer II 16570 (1998)
Hi,I came across 1998 issue of the Explorer ii. I dont have any Rolex yet and was considering Explorer 1 214270. However, this pre-owned piece is in good condition, is sold by an AD, was serviced by them and AD gives additional 2 yrs warranty. The case has normal wear, some of the numbers on the bezel are losing paint and bracelet is missing extra links so I have to buy them or put on nato/leather. I should also mention that box and papers are included. Please share your opinion regarding buying 20yr old Rolex vs new or under 5 year old. The price is competitive, so not sure if there are any gotchas I don't know about or AD wants to get it out. This watch was at the store for at least 6 months now. If you can share price that you believe this should be at, it would help as well. I already checked eBay and chrono24Thank you
I may be in the minority, but the 36mm Day-date is perfect.
I have been a Rolex lover, admirer, and owner for over 25 years. While I like and appreciate the newest DD 41, There is something just perfect about the proportions of the original DD 36. I haven't owned one, but would like to own one someday. While out running last-minute Christmas errands, I saw one on the wrist of a fellow shopper and just thought to myself, Man that watch is what started my love affair all those years ago. To me, the DD 36Represents the pinnacle of Rolex. Merry Christmas.
