Louis Cartier followed his success with the Santos
Louis Cartier followed his success with the Santos when he designed and released the Tank in 1917, inspired, appropriately, by the design of the Renault tanks used in the First World War. Cartier presented the prototype to General John Pershing of the American Expeditionary Force. Cartier expanded on the simple square of the Santos; the Tank features a square watch in a rectangular case with its straps hidden under vertical sidepieces. The watch features blued, sword shaped hands with a winding crown that is topped with a sapphire.
My Heaviest Incoming Ever - Totally Smitten
This has been a long journey from dream to reality, which has made today all the more sweeter.I intended to write a long intro detailing a journey that Tolkien would have been proud of But I will spare you all and let this beautiful watch do the talking.I really am speechless:I'm now going to put this bad boy on my wrist and head out the door. My first AP, who'd of thought
Advice on pricing used 14790ST
All, I would like to ask your assistance in pricing a watch I am helping my employer sell. The watch has been worn and used. Unfortunately the box, papers, manual have been discarded. I did have him pay for a certificate of authenticity from the AP Boutique on 57th St in Manhattan / NYC.The model number is 14790ST.OO.0789ST.09, E-series - Caliber 2225 36 Jewels, and described as Dark Blue Big TAP. AP 10 Index Dial, stainless steel case and bracelet with 11 links at 12h and 7 links at 6h - and no spare links, appears to be sized for 6.5 wrist. He has the travel case (or is it AP service case?) and the certificate of authenticity as well as the receipts from AP for the watch with serials for both the watch case and the movement noted. The watch has not been repolished, runs and keeps time properly, winds without issue. I don't know if it has been serviced or not so I'd guess not. I'm told he acquired the piece in the early 2000's.What would be a fair asking price for it? He believe
To love or not to love
I was never seriously considering the 5905P until I tried one on a few weeks ago. Quite a piece, what a dial, a bit hefty but so nice. Should I pull the trigger ? Wristshots of owners welcomed.
Date just 36 or perpetual 39
Hello everyone,I'm planning to buy a Rolex I love the DJ41 but it's out of budget, however I found the perpetual 39 - 114300 and I liked it also the DJ 36 is nice but I feel it looks small in my hand and it's within the budget. My question as resale value does it make a difference between the DJ36 and perpetual 39?cdn1.bigcommerce/server32...02.200.200.jpgwatchesbysjx/wp-content/u...etual-39-3.jpg
