IWC Portuguese Grande Complication Watch
The new holy grail IWC Grande Complication watch is here. IWC has taken their famous "easy to read but complete" perpetual calendar watch with moon phase and year indicator, that also has a minute repeater, placed it in a Portuguese style case, and updated the dial a little bit. You know how the most sober looking ultra complex watch out there. It is hard not to like the looks and appreciate all that it does. Advise needed...Where have I gone wrong as a parent?
My son is a working on a PhD in high-energy particle physics (and has used using high-desnity magnetic fields), and expects to graduate in about a year. This Thanksgiving we visited the Rolex and Omega AD's in his area, to look at watches for myself (I got a nice Omega PO a month ago, another story), and get some feedback on what kind of watch he would like for graduation.The interesting part: He does not wear a watch, owns one but does not wear it, and no interested in a watch! Hay, dad's gonna spring for a Rolex Milgaus or a Omega Aqua Terra Anti-Magnetic, and there's no interest!! Arghhhh!!! Where have I failed?!!Advise requested...

I've read a good amount about bad experiences through the Texas service center so figured I'd share a story with a happy ending.About a month ago my 111 I-series stopped running. Having purchased used and being unaware of the service history I decided to go for a full overhaul. I'm thrilled with the results.The watch was in for 33 days total well within their estimate and was polished to like new specs.the cool service boxes are back too!
