Baume & Mercier Hampton Watches For 2011
I remember the good ol' days when watches were modern and design was fresh and enthusiastic. Boy, those where some crazy times. We sure have come a long way since then. Today things are better and we've learned our lesson. Don't try to improve upon watch design or create new things. No one wants to buy that. What people really want is old watches. Well, new old watches. Boy, I'll tell youwhat a refreshing sight today's new watches are. No distracting innovation, just good old fashioned"old fashioned."So it makes me incredibly proud to introduce you to Baume & Mercier's "new" Hampton watch collection. Baume & Mercier really holds a special place in my heart for teasing me with the first watch I could truly not afford. That was a Capeland model back in the late 1990s. What a cool modern watch that was (back in those unfortunate times). Today's Capeland watch is thankfully stuck in a pre-World War II era.According to Baume & Mercier the Hampton collection is based on a watch f
Movement / Time set question
I have a couple of watches with the 3135, 3186, and just added a couple with the 3235. The 3135 and 3186 advance the time with a forward turn on the crown. The 3235 advances time with a rearward turn. I was always under the impression that the forward turn to advance the time was something of a Rolex signature. With the exception of my chronos, I believe even the Tudors have that function / feature. Can anyone give me some insight on the change?E-
DSSD D-Blue v. SD43
I'm thinking about one of the two. Would not be worn with formal clothes, so fitting under the cuff doesn't matter. Worried the DSSD will be discontinued, SD43 loses red lettering. Can't afford both at the moment. I have a bigger but not huge wrist. I'm torn, lol.
strap width mm for a Zulu on a DSSD?
Ok. I did due diligence, (actually, I have only been searching the threads for about 10 minutes, but got impatient ). I want to put a 5 ring Zulu on my DSSD, and wanted to know the best width to order. I don't have calipers, but it is looking like 22 or 24 mm. Any of you know offhand what the proper width would be? THANKS!
