Is Fossil Ready For An $895 Swiss Automatic Watch?
A few years ago, I used to joke that you'd never see an article about Fossil on watches-dealer. So, this is actually the very first one. Yeah, I know that sounds snobby, but what exactly was I going to write? "Here is an $80 watch that is a cheap recreation of something else you really ought to buy. But with Fossil, you have the convenience of Macy's." As a business, Fossil is a fantastic money-making machine. Proudly American, the Texas-based company is actually in the business of retail product placement before they are in the market of making watches. That is at least from the perspective of what they are good at business-wise. Though, over the years, their ability to make decent watches improved (a bit). Given what I know and what I am used to, it is just hard for me to take Fossil timepieces seriously as something I'd wear - just being honest. Snoopy Speedy watches the shuttle launch....
I think I have wanted to see the shuttle launch since it first started flying. I have a good friend and we've been talking about it for the past 10 years and realized we'd better get going as there were only 4 remaining before the shuttle is retired later this year.We watched the predawn launch from a friends house about 20 miles south of Cape Caneveral. IT WAS AWESOME! Now we've decided we have to go back to the next launch in July (3rd to last) too.After the launch, we went out to the Kennedy Space center. Hello All- So I’ve developed a small bad habit. I evidently love to trade in pursuit of the perfect watch. I own other Rolex watches but have been trading back and forth with DavidSW. I ended up trading my Rolex Datejust TT on Jubilee bracelet (116233) silver dial for a SS/WG Rolex Datejust on oyster bracelet (116234) blue dial. I have to say that I love dials with color on them, and I also wear a ton of blue. This being the case, I am very excited to have it. I also love the WG bezel too. Pics below!
