3 Exceptional Boutique Watches We Found Outside of SIHH 2015
Every year at Geneva’s SIHH watch salon, a host of luxury watch brands (most of them owned by the Richemont Group) unveil their new timepieces to international retailers, collectors, and journalists. In recent years, other smaller, non-participating brands have set up shop outside of the SIHH in Geneva’s luxury hotels, displaying new models of their own. Here are three notable examples of such watches that we found this year.Manufacture Royale Androgyne Origine, 245th Anniversary Limited EditionNamed for the watch atelier founded by French literary icon Voltaire in 1770, this boutique brand is know for tourbillon watches with steampunk-influenced designs. The new Androgyne Origine commemorates 245 years since the foundation of the original Manufacture Royale. Its complex case is made up of 52 parts and is especially notable for its moving, flexible lugs that make the large timepiece eminently wearable on all types of wrists despite its rather large case diameter (43 mm). Introducing: The Montblanc 4810 Chronograph Automatic
Along with all of its other introductions at SIHH 2016, Montblanc has revamped the classic 4810 Chronograph Automatic with a new case size and an updated movement – while still managing to maintain the aesthetic of the line. 1 OF 1 The new 4810 Chronograph Automatic features a 43 mm stainless-steel case (previously the watch was available in 44 to 47 mm). The dial is the familiar silvered guilloché with “exploding star pattern” and has applied red-gold-plated Roman numerals. The new movement is the automatic caliber MB 25.07 movement with 46-hour power reserve. The watch is complete with 30-minute and 12-hour registers. Omega Boutique - great visit.
Had a great visit to the local Omega Boutique yesterday. They had the new Speedy Pro with the new watch box in, and I stopped by to take a look. Nice box, which is available separately for $750 and includes the box, commemorative medallion, strap tool, two straps, loupe, and two books. While I was there, they presented me with this great gift. I was pleased that they wanted me to have it, and am sure I'll enjoy it immensely. It's several hundred pages all about the Moonwatch in its various incarnations, and is valued at over $300 US.

Gift equality for my parents
My dad is 71 and has a very slow growth cancer. I would love to gift him a Rolex for him to enjoy his last few years. My dad hasn't really been into watches or much of anything as he usually just sacrificed for his family and put his desires aside. It would be a stretch to make this gift possible financially but certainly doable. My question is what to do for my mom? Is it necessary to provide a gift of similar value for her. Do you think she would be offended if I gave a gift of significant value to him and not her. I'm not sure I can swing two gifts in this price range. I would love to hear from others that have wrestled with this dilemma and how it turned out.
