New Omega Botique coming to Somerset Collection in Michigan
This may have already been posted, I dont spend much time on the Omega forum. But I just was at the very upscale Somerset Collection in Troy, MI and sall this storefront right across from the existing Tourneau. Interesting that Tourneau will lost the Omega line, as well as losing the Rolex line a few months ago. Ouch. Always have terrible experiences at this Tourneau. Looking forward to the new Omega Botique.
Should I buy this Patek 5120G?
I've been looking for a slim dress watch and narrowed it down to the 5120G, which unfortunately is discontinued. I prefer 2 hands and micro rotor over the current 3 hands/manual 5119.Was about to commit until the seller dropped this bomb. Not sure if I'm just unrealistic to expect an unpolished 5120 (but who wears a dress watch daily to warrant a polish ), but 14 years is old. The lugs also don't look sharp at all.The 5119 is now only $17480 list, so what do you all feel about $13500 for this 5120? Full set with papers. From seller:This watch has been refinished, and it looks great. It was originally purchased in 2003. We do not have any service records for it, but it was fully tested/inspected by our watchmakers and deemed to be in proper working order.
Finally got the Daytona C call but wrong dial colour ! Advice needed !!
Hi everyone ! I texted, called and emailed my Rolex salesperson the morning of March 16,2016 right after Rolex announced the Daytona C. The white dial is the one I really wanted and I told my salesperson that. It made my heart skip a beat when I first saw it on Rolex's Instagram that morning !! I was on the list for the prior model white dial 12 years ago and my name came up a couple of years later but the timing was not right as we just had a baby and bought a new house at the time so had to let that one go. So I have been wanting a SS white dial for around 12 years now ! When the new model was announced I knew it was time ! Fast forward to 2016/2017 again.... Several texts and calls over the following months and no Daytona even though I was one of the first to contact the store. I kind of made contact again last summer and still no call. Salesperson was trying but none were available to her to sell ! I went in last week and had a personal one on one conversation
Got my first Rolex!
Been a big mechanical watch fan for a long time and had a few cool pieces (in my opinion, ha, ranging from Citizen and Seiko to Sinn and Omega ) that I bought throughout the years. Mostly tool watches as I love the engineering aspect of things.Always interested in Rolex due to its history and engineering, especially the Sub / Sea-Dweller series. But never convinced myself to spend the money. The past couple of years, I had been working in Hong Kong on assignment. As some of you probably know, there's a billion (no exaggeration ) Rolex ADs there. So my interest in Rolex picked up again. Tried on the Deepsea in the past and loved the engineering aspect of it (and I don't mind big watches), but somehow felt the bracelet is too narrow for the watch head. (Just my opinion.. still think it is awesome.. !) Tried the SubC and it is really nice, although would prefer it a little bit bigger. (I am not a huge guy, but just like big watches.. )Then I saw the release of SD43 and thought
