ROC w/ Exhibition Caseback
Now that they have incorporated the exhibition caseback on the ROO 42mm series do you think it will flow down to the ROC's?The only thing holding me back from getting an ROC was the fact that it doesn't have the exhibition caseback.
RB2 Question
In doing some research on the Ti model, I came across a few posts (I cant find the thread again to be able to directly post in there) that seemed to suggest that the pusher design and crown on this model can be a bit uncomfortable, particularly when compared to the redesigned GP and/or Schumacher.Could anyone comment on the veracity of this concern, particularly if you happened to have experience across these three pieces?thanks!
Speedmaster Questions
I tried on a Speedmaster Professional at a local AD today. Wow, what a great watch. I loved checking it out after having seen them on the 'net so much. I tried on the model with sapphire crystal, display back and leather strap -- I believe that is the 3873.50.31. I really liked it. Here are a few questions for the speedmaster aficianados out there:1. What do you think of the display back? I'm drawn to it because it's an extra feature and the decorated movement looks cool. But, I've had display backs before and I rarely take a watch off to actually look at the movement. I wonder if it is worth the money to have the display back, especially considering the differences from the more historically accurate speedmaster pro -- i.e., sapphire v. hesalite and 861 v. 1861 movement. I read that the 1861 swapped out some stronger plastic parts for aesthetic reasons. I think the hesalite and 861 are better, but that display back is cool.2. Is $3900 less 10% a good price from an AD. See
Hold Your Horses, Brace, Price Increases
I have word that the price increases for the new watches will be anywhere from 12% to 15%. Source says old watches will see 7-8% increases.Reasons cited are new bracelets, new designs, and new movements. It may be based on another rumor I dont know, but if these prices hold true the secondary market is going UP.Also, it seems that because of the new variety, models will be produced in smaller runs, and will be very difficult to obtain.
Finally received my Daytona C!
Had this beauty on reserve since July as it was located in South America and I wasn't going to be here until December. Wired a down- payment and was glad the AD honored their word in keeping it for me. Stopped by just now and picked it up. Couldn't be happier! Great way to start the new year. Now I just have to find the nerve to take the stickers off, size it and wear it. Have to say though, couldn't have been done without my wife (who is from around here) who could speak the language, and was able to make this happen.Happy New Year everyone!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
