MB&F HM4 Piece Unique For The Only Watch 2011 Auction
Just as they did in 2009, MB&F will participate in the 2011 Only Watch charity auction to be held in Monaco this September. The event is an auction for unique watches only, with proceedings going to help fund research for a particularly nasty type of disease that affects children. Instead of just changing a color or small style element, MB&F prefers to donate a true piece of art.For the 2009 Only Watch event MB&F worked with artist Sage Vaughn on a piece unique based on the HM2. This latter piece focused on the crippling nature of the disease and was a beautiful, but dark piece that had barbed wire entangling the movement. For 2011 Max Busser of MB&F wanted a more uplifting message. As the type of muscular dystrophy the charity seeks to combat is incurable, the idea is that the children can only escape in their dreams. Thus, the 2011 MB&F piece Only Watch is a celebration of what boy's dream about. For Max Busser it was frequently flying - and perhaps it was for you
Very excited!!!!!!
Doing a routine run through Philly this week and going to Timepiece Perfection at some point. Really excited to be able to try on a 15300 and 15400 and compare side by side. The AP bug has been biting me a little, but there aren't any dealers close to me. Is it possible and and that I get something other than Rolex???? Blasphemy!!!!!! Since I don't know much about AP, is there anything specific I need to look for on these two watches?
Help me!
To all enablers out there, I've been lost for too long..please help me find my way back into the AP world. current choices:15400st white/silver (would prefer to get 15300 but since they are discontinued..)or wait for the new ceramic diver ( will be out roughly in october according to AP boutique singapore)or..any other AP up for consideration around that budget?

Just picked it up today from local AD. Got a slight discount. It will be a daily watch, how easily does the clasp scratch? I work on a mac and I'm afraid the keyboard part were I rest my hand will scratch against it. PP_5167A_1.jpgPP_5167A_2.jpgPP_5167A_3.jpg
Observations
I participated in a sporting charity event this weekend. I had about 40 teams of 4 people come through my station. The event costs about $5000 per team so these people were not poverty stricken. I saw a lot of Rolex watches. The vast majority were Subs followed by two tone DateJust. Saw only 1 Explorer 2.I saw nothing above these watches. I would have expected some DayDates and GMTs. Not so.
