An Original Photograph Of Picasso And His Jaeger-LeCoultre Triple Date Moonphase
Yousuf Karsh was a photographer famed for his portraits of celebrities.? One such celebrity that he photographed on a few occassions was Pablo Picasso.? One original portrait of Picasso is coming up for sale via Christie's this afternoon witha pre-sale estimate of $5000-$7000.Why are we telling you this, you may be wondering?? Well, in this particular portrait, you can see Mr. Picasso wearing one heck of a nice watch.? What is it? It's a late 1940s Jaeger-LeCoultre triple date moonphase with teardrop lugs, one of JLC's most beautiful designs.? In fact, the watch looks very similiar to the JLC that is on the cover of Zaf Basha's Jaeger-LeCoultre book. For details on the photograph at Christie's, click here. DID YOU KNOW? Picasso was also known to wear a Rolex GMT-Master. 2 OF 2
10:10
What are you WIS doing with your AP at 10:10?I was with my daughter in the ICU 2 days ago when she was treated for her first attack of breathlessness. It was such a nerve-wrecking experience when your loved one was suffering from such emergency. When she was on her first nebulizer, I decided to record the moment and that was when I noticed my AP-clad arm was holding her for support & encouragement. It was nearing 10:10am...10:10 resembles a V sign which signifies victory! And million thanks to the team of doctors and nurses, my girl was recovering very well and was discharged from hospital yesterday. Just a day before the incident, I was meeting Ben (aka benlee) for lunch and we talked about how short and fragile life is. Hence when all necessities in life like housing, insurance, sustainable investment, etc have been catered for, it is always a good idea to splurge on hobbies, travelling, etc, during our prime years when we have the means and stamina to enjoy the best part of our
Omega vs Omega
Ok guys so I'm trying to decide on my first Omega watch... omg i know, how exciting! I love the PO Chrono w Orange bezel 45mm but have noticed that the bigger watches don't get as much wrist time as the 40's, which are a lot more comfortable. Since it will be a daily wear, I was thinking a SMP or SMP GMT. Any recommendations, Omega wise? Also, what are your recommendations, if one were to have only one Omega, or as a definitive must have Omega watch? Thanks :D
Finally made the purchase, and love it- PP5164
Hi all, I'm relatively new to the forum. Over the last few months I have purchased a few watches(Rolex's and IWC) from DavidSW. But this time I decided to take it to a new level and join the PP club. I've eyed this watch since it was introduced, and have gone back and forth if I should buy or not. One thing for sure it's not available at the AD's I've called or visited directly. So I had to turn to David and he tracked this one down. It took several weeks, but he found one and delivered.
Anyone wonder why Rolex didn't update the current GMTs?
I wish Rolex had put the 3285 in all the GMTs instead of just that wonderful new Pepsi. The current crop is now much less desirable given that they have an old movement that's surely going to get replaced. As anyone read or heard anything about an update?
