Review: Maratac Pilot Watch
For those of you that have been following worn&wound for the past several months, the Maratac Pilot Watch should be familiar territory.? We highlighted it a few months back and included it in our holiday gift guide for guys.? I've owned a Maratac for some time now, and having it as a part of my watch collection has been a pleasure. With a quality automatic movement, sapphire crystal and outstanding pilot watch styling, all for under $200, how can you go wrong?Case: Brushed stainless steelMovement: Miyota 8245 21 jewel automatic movementLuminous: Super Luminova C3Lens: Domed sapphire glassCase Back: Screw-downStrap: Maratac Brand Mil-series nylonWater Res.: 100 MDimensions: 46 mmThickness: 12.5 mmLug Width: 22 mmCrown: Screw down oversized onionWarranty: UnknownThe headline to any discussion of the Maratac Pilot has to be what an outstanding value it is, and not just for its superb mechanical and material components.? Aerospace
Any Aerospace fans? Here two of mine:(sorry about the bad pic):Just ordered co-pilot to my Advantage. Please post pics of Your Aerospace, and if You also have co-pilot, even better..Thanks.P.S. If someone has titanium Pro bracelet for sale to that older model, I might be interested. (Of course even more, if with UTC).
How does this fit? Need your expert help
Hi I'm completely new to the panerai world and would like to get your expert opinion. I have 6.75 wrists and normally wear Rolexes (Daytona, BLNR, Seadweller4000). So I'm used to 40mm. What your thoughts on size on my wrist with these two PAMsToo big for my wrists? I know PAMs are supposed to look big. Maybe I'm just too used to Rolex. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Dangerous9 Incomings
Before I start, be warned that this post might be very unhealthy for your bank accounts!Following the acquisition of my 737 in August this year, I started jonesing for another strap. The brown Teju lizard that John Glance at Dangerous9 crafted for me is a work of art so the logical thing to do was get in touch and see what else he could do. From the great feedback I had from you guys on the colour combinations of my Panerai OEM straps, particularly on my 689 and 737, I decided to go for another Teju lizard but this time in racing tan. Whist we have to be careful considering colours seen on a computer monitor (they can vary significantly between brands), I thought that the racing tan was the colour to go for; some of you said that the Panerai OEM JV gold took the eye away from the dials of the 689 and 737 and I could see where you were coming from. The racing tan therefore seemed perfect in that it was a similar shade to the JV but nowhere near as shouty.Back in late August and earl
Real Hulk Pricing
Big fan of the Hulk, but I have retailer interested in buying mine back. Sort of been deep in Omega territory as of late and really have not used it. Its been worn, but it is in excellent shape pretty much with the box and all the goodies. Its five years old I think. But the same guy I bought it from is interested--the question is--what is fair price to land at? There seems to be a lot of interest in the Hulk these days and I had previously considered selling and decided against it. But I am open to letting it go at this point. I know we have a sell section here, but am not interested in a sky high price that not realistic and I understand the guy is only buying to resell. Thoughts?
