Brand Highlight: Ball Watch
The Ball Watch company is one rooted in history and tradition,?dating back?to the late 1800’s. ?Webb C. Ball, the company’s founder, was the first jeweler to?adopt?standard time measurement in all of his pocket watches and later in life was responsible for the standardization of time measurement throughout the watch manufacturing world. ?Today, Ball Watch has?maintained?a significant presence in the watch landscape, through superbly designed mechanical watches, with unique styling to match their?historical?roots. The story behind the founding of Ball Watch is actually quite interesting. ?In the late 1800’s, Webb C. Speedmaster movement durability?
All, in considering a Speedmaster, what do you know about the durability of the manual movement on the Speedy Pro vs. the 33XX on the other (Legend, GMT, etc) Speedmasters?I'm inclined towards the Speedies that have a sapphire crystal, increased water resistance and a date function, but I do like the look and aspects of the hesalite crystal and the plain, very legible uncluttered dial of the basic, good ol' Speedy Pro.And I've been reasearching and reading some remarks that the 33XX movements have had some problems.Views? Thanks,C
My new collection 6104/1G
I like to thank you Mark Hearn (MD Patek Philippe UK) and Boodles General manager Jamie Bennett offered me a beautiful 6104/1G. I like to share my happiness with everyone here. Please let me know how do you think about 6104/1G. So far I don't fully understand how skymoon works. I will learn later. It is interesting to see how lighting changes to affect the dial color. S33-s.jpgS23-s.jpgS24-s.jpgS1-s.jpgS4-s.jpg
Today was a very good day!
I stopped by my Patek AD and just did it. I now own a 5980r. I will take some more pictures in the coming days. They were not prepared for me to walk out the door with it.
Why isn't the GMT also known as "The Moon watch"
In 1971 the entire NASA team wore Pepsi GMT's on their mission to the moon. This seems to be an important moment in Rolex history, doesn't seem to get mentioned much..rolexmagazine/2008/06...story.html?m=1
