The New Seiko Mechanical Line (SARB027, SARB029, SARB030) From WatchReport.com
The past few years have seen steady growth in the diameter of men's watches. In the 1950s, a dress watch was expected to be slim and small, the normal size being somewhere between 32 and 35mm wide. These days, anything less than 38mm is considered dainty, and even 50mm and beyond isn't unheard of.However, not everyone wants such a large watch, or for that matter, the bold styling that often accompanies it. These more traditional men seem to be the target market for Seiko's recently introduced line of four mechanical dress watches, all with classic styling and very conservative 36mm cases. They are based on the new 23-jewel 6R15B movement with both hand-winding and hacking, and are known as the Seiko Mechanical line.Click on the above text for the full article at WatchReportwatches-dealer. 1st Incoming AP!!! Introduced to the Collection...
I'm ecstatic to soon join the AP club in a few moments time. I've patiently waited to find this model and peruse through many watches to finally choose this AP. But I first wanted to introduce the state of my collection, and what the AP would join...You can see a few of my pieces are inspired with an automotive background...1. Heuer Monaco 1133bIntroduced in 1969 as the first square shaped automatic chronograph. This is the model Steve McQueen made famous in the movie LeMans.2. Vacheron Toledo 1952Inspired by the traditional classical elegance of the model in the 1950's, the unique shape has the exact dimensions of the original, which was 36 x 43 mm. It has a complex dome shaped square sapphire crystal...there are no right angles on the bezel, sapphire or lugs. 3. Vacheron Constantin Overseas Dual TimeAs the oldest watch manufacturer with rich long tradition in horologic history, this sporty timepiece is a near daily wearer for me. 4. Indecision about the Omega Speedmaster Pro
Hi everyone,I'm struggling with a decision about pursuing the Omega Speedmaster Pro (3570.50 or the 3573.50). I keep coming back to it but can never pull the trigger on it. I already have a chronograph, and several other nice watches (i.e., Rolex, Omega, GS). My near-daily watches are the Rolex Sub-date and the Rolex Explorer II-Polar.Why the hesitation about the Speedmaster Pro? It's a manual wind, doesn't have a date, and the issue of the hesalite crystal. I like the warmer 'look' of the hesalite crystal (3570.50) better than the sapphire crystal (i.e. 3753.50) but appreciate the practical aspects of the sapphire crystal. Im forgetful, and often check my watch several times during the day to remind myself the date. But no matter how often I go through other watches, I keep coming back to the Omega Speedmaster Pro. I love the Speedmaster Pro's history and I love its balanced beauty. My wife thinks its silly that I always check out the Speedmaster Pro when I stroll through different mal
