In a stroke of serendipity, 2013 marks both the 180th anniversary of Swiss watch brand Jaeger-LeCoultre and the 100th anniversary of British luxury automaker Aston-Martin, Jaeger-LeCoultre’s partner for nearly a decade in the development of special, luxury-auto-inspired timepieces.The new timepieces comprise two from JLC’s Master collection, the Master Compressor Extreme W-Alarm and Master Hometime; and one from the AMVOX collection, the AMVOX5 World Chronograph Cermet, which marks the debut of a new case material.The Master Compressor Extreme W-Alarm Aston Martin combines a world-time display with a mechanical alarm function. The time on the alarm can be read easily on the left-hand side of the dial at 9 o’clock, where two juxtaposed disks, one displaying the hours from 1 to 12 and the other showing the quarter-hours, appear through a large, semicircular aperture. Rubberclad or Diver?
So I've decided to venture into the world of AP, but I'm torn on my first purchase.. Either a diver or the non-updated white dial rubber clad.Anyone want to help me sway one way or the other? The rubberclad seems like the obvious choice since I already have a few black dial Rolexes, but at the same time I also wouldn't be using the chrono features too often.
