Top All-American Watch Makers
This 4th of July, we'd like to make note of a few exceptional watch brands not only based in the USA, but who also produce things here. As we've mentioned before, America was once home to some of the greatest manufacturers in the world. Unfortunately, our golden age in the industry has long since passed, and very few brands remain truly American. These selections C whether they manufacture everything domestically or use mostly foreign parts with just a few elements made in the US, are the cornerstone of the new American watch industry. The driving force behind them is a passion for timekeeping fueled by American ingenuity. As either proud Americans or unmitigated watch enthusiasts, we salute our American watchmakers.RGMAn instantly recognizable brand name to those in the know, RGM manufactures high-quality American timepieces in Pennsylvania's Lancaster County. RGM's commitment to excellence in design is apparent across their whole range C from their basic three-hand models to their ep
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Jarno Trulli Limited Edition Watch
A new Formula 1 driver -based watch from Audemars Piguet is this new Royal Oak Offshore Jarno Trulli. Boy, it sure is nice, but looks very little like where these watches looked as though they have been evolving. It is possible that ending with the AP ROO Grand Prix, designer Octavio Garcia felt that the designs of brands race themed watches was getting too wild. While I liked the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Grand Prix watch - it is safe to say that it is a controversial design. You can also see the AP ROO Rubens Barrichello II watch here (another F1 driver). Thus, it isn't hard to see were AP has "scaled back" the look of the design a lot. Emphasis is on the forged carbon case, high-tech cermet (cool metal ceramic hyrbid material) dial, and the titanium crown and pushers. In a sober looking gray, the Jarno Trulli is dressed up a bit with bright red elements on the dial.Actually quite nice, the watch is more simple and easy to read that its "cousin" pieces. Only gripe I have is
PP 5167 vs. GMT BLNR - Which One ??
I have a 5167 currently and looking at a BLNR. If I get the BLNR, I would not have a need for both. So, which would you rather ??
Vintage Calatrava?
Hi Guys My father passed away a couple of year ago and my mother had this stached in her closet. I have no idea what It is or if it is manual wound or quartz. I sent it to my AD and he verryfied that it is genuine. He did noT open the case and said that It needs to go to Patek for restoration. For all you experts, What do you guys think? Year? Is this gold or just a coat? movement? How much is it worth? size? Let me know
Best Modern Rolex to compliment LVc
So my only Rolex is an LVc (Luckily purchased back in April) and was wondering what the best compliment would be. I'm currently thinking D-Blue or BLNR. I would really want a Black D500 Daytona, but I don't want to pay over MSRP for this purchase. Also liked a DJ41, Blue dial, Flutted, Jubilee, Sticks, but haven't tried one on before, also at age 34, I'm not sure if I'm ready for a DJ. Also, have a Speedy and Breitling SuperOcean II. Pics for reference, lol.
