Panerai Introduces Entry-Level Luminor 8 Days Watches with P.5000 Movement
Ever since the release of last year's Luminor Marina 8 Days (PAM 510) with the new in-house P.5000 movement, there has been talk of Panerai discontinuing its entry-level Luminor models. The PAM 510 is a doppelganger of the PAM 111, with the exception of the words 8 Days on the dial and the movement underneath, the two watches are practically identical. At this point, it is worth talking a bit about this new P. 5000 movement, which only debuted last year. First and foremost, this is a hand-wound movement that is comprised of 127 components and beats at 3Hz or 21,600bph. The movement, like most other Panerai in-house movements, is fairly large at 15? lignes, but this is necessary because, as you know, Panerai makes large watches. Most significantly, it boasts a power reserve of 8 days and this is achieved by having two barrels in series. Such a configuration allows longer, thinner springs to be used, giving it its long power reserve. This year, Panerai is releasing five new Luminor model
Maison Fondee En 1848
Is there any significance or value (or lack thereof) to a case back saying 'Maison Fondee Ex 1848'? I'm currently considering a watch with this feature and don't have any idea if it's a plus, a minus, has no meaning or a clear sign to run. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
New to Omega; help me decide
Hi guys, I am a rolex guy that is looking for his first Omega. I was leaning toward the Speedmaster moon watches, but there are many of them. I like the 42MM line, would anyone here be able to tell me the differences between the watches in that line? specifically the 3573.50.00 and 3570.50.00Thanks in advance
Two PP or one PP....
Hello; In the market for a PP. Looking at the 5711 and 5167. I can technically purchase both. Would you? Or would you buy one very nice PP? My spending limit is <50K. Any advice and/or recommendations are welcomed. I currently have a SubC as my daily and very happy with it. I'm new to the PP world and have been reading a lot about these pieces and very excited to make my first PP purchase soon!Cheers
Do these lug holes look right?
Hi guys, I've noticed that the lug holes on my 5980 look very close to the edge. Is this normal? I would have thought they'd have been inset a bit more to make sure no issues if the case ever gets polishedI think it probably is OK, but it's started to eat away at me a little bit so looking for some assurance. Thanks.
