Watches NEWS
I'm going tomorrow to the Arctic
and the watch I'm considering to take with me is already on ice. What do you think; which one is the best candidate when in the program is snow mobile riding, fishing through the ice, a dog sledge safari, some restaurant visits?I will not take more than one watch with me - the maximum is two. What's the best watch for such a trip with important clients and why?Best, Kari
SMP vs. Non Ceramic Sub
Went out for dinner with some friends last night and one of them was wearing a SS sub circa 1995, I was wearing my coaxial SMP Bond. We switched watches for a few minutes and he admitted that my SMP felt much more substantial then his sub. He was very impressed with the dial, bracelet and caseback of my SMP.I know it is not fair to compare a new SMP with an older sub but with a new sub costing twice as much as a SMP, the Bond is a bargain!
New Year sales Omega question ?
Been doing some research on Omega after seeing how much love there has been on this Forum over the last few months.Got a Seamaster 300m GMT(black face) in my sights after numerous postings and pictures by Lol X and Perdu.....fantastic watchAlso got a feeling for a Speedy Pro if I can get a good price in the sales. Narrowed it down to two, and I just need some advice from any Omega experts/fans out there.....Can any of you tip the balance one way or the other ?Watch 1....3870.50.31 Black croc strap, hesalite crystal, caliber 1861.Watch 2....3873.50.31 Black croc strap, sapphire crystal, caliber 1863.The second watch has a clear caseback as well.Is sapphire better than hesalite ? And is there any actual difference in the two calibers ?D-Day is Friday 28th December.........Thanks for any help you can give.
5130 dials
Hi all,Lately I am having a worldtimer obsession. Browsing a lot, trying to find something unique (if I can use this word in this context) however not breaking my bank account. To the point - I found 5130 R with two different dial versions as below: one on the right is from official Patek website.5130 r dubai.jpg1. As I understand it is not a Dubai limited edition (on the left), just a different dial version for different continents perhaps?Could somebody elaborate it as I was not able to find a lot of explanation on the web. I know there are limitations like green dial Mecca (which is as well printed in green) or Jerusalem, however this one doesn't look this way.2. The pic below - Istanbul -seems like a limited one. If it is - does anyone know how many were produced, is there really any exclusivity/collectibility going with it?istanbul.jpg3. Which worldtimer (please exclude 5131's, and all pieces with sky high prices, I mean regulars but also 5110's) would you pick as a rarest, most un
