Hublot Joins Team Alinghi for 2010 America’s Cup Defense
Hublot and Alinghi announced yesterday that Hublot has committed to support Alinghi’s campaign in the 33rd America's Cup. Hublot CEO Jean-Claude Biver (photo right) joined Alinghi team president Ernesto Bertarelli at Alinghi’s training base in Genoa, Italy for the announcement. Alinghi will defend against the challenger, Larry Ellison’s BMW Oracle yacht, in the waters off Ras al-Khaimah, UAE, beginning on February 8, 2010. Hublot has always had close links with the world of yachting – through its name, which means ‘porthole’ in French, through its partnerships with prestigious sailing clubs such as Yacht Club Monaco and Real Club Nautico de Palma, and through sponsorship deals with numerous races and yachts. Jean-Claude Biver is thrilled with the new partnership: “We had the chance to admire the yacht as it left the yard, and when it first took to the water on Lake Geneva. It is a magnificent boat and it represents the essence of Swiss expertis

Found it on EBay, seller says it's from 2006, a quartz movement, men's in 39mm. Doesn't list a reference number. Not really fired up about the EBay deal, but like the watch and would like a little info.
Questions about PP 5205
Hi all,I've searched the forum and I've learned a lot about the 5205 (thanks to everyone here). I am leaning towards the 5205 darker dial and I'm requesting pics on a smaller wrist. Pics of the 5205 (any color)and comments are greatly appreciated.
First Grand Complication! Ref. 5140P
Much has been written on TRF and other forums about this reference. Among things I've seen discussed have been the following:It's too big. It's too small. The dial is too busy. It's too hard to read. The 27 and 5 on the date subdial has a different font. Not much love for the blue dialEtc.Well, as a proud second owner of this gorgeous 5140P, allow me to share my thoughts by responding to each of the above niggles point by point. At 38mm, I find the case size perfect. Maybe it's not for everybody's wrist, but for mine, it's perfect! The dial is extremely readable, which says a lot because my eyesight is terrible. Its readability is especially amazing when you consider how much info this perpetual calendar packs into such a compact space. The sleek profile of the 240 Q really makes the watch. I love the calibre.Regarding the fonts. The different size numbers that Patek uses to make the dates easy-to-see while at the same time making room for 3 and 9 o'clock subdials is purposeful, it
My First Rolex (SS GMT Master II)
Hi,I bought by first Rolex last week, and i'm over the moon with it (unfortunately the forum won't allow me to upload photos until I have 10 posts, so I will do so when I reach that, thanks). My daily up until now and for the last 5 years has been a Breitling Navitimer GMT (48mm). I have always been a huge fan of Navitimers since I was a kid, and no other watch appealed to me until 6 months ago.I always felt that most Rolex watches were too plain in terms of dials (chronographs), etc lol, but quickly learned about the history, innovation and everything else that comes with a Rolex.I have been on a 6 month waiting list for a 'Stainless Steel GMT Master II with black face and bexel', and it arrived last week.At first it felt very small on my wrist but now it feels natural, and I can't stop staring at it.I have a few newbie questions which I hope you can help me with... please bare with me on the silly ones:QUESTIONS01 - i'm going on holidays soon, and this will be my first waterproof watc
