Introducing: The Special Edition Panerai Radiomir 1940 And Luminor 1950 With Special Dial
Panerai just released a modern skeletonized watch (the Lo Scienziato Luminor 1950 that you can read about here), but in addition have released a Luminor 1950 and Radiomir 1940 with a special chocolate dial that resembles the patinated radium dials that vintage Panerais are known for. 1 OF 4Luminor 1950 3 Days2 OF 4Radiomir 1940 3 Days Both the Radiomir 1940 (without crown guard) and Luminor 1950 (with crown guard) are made in steel with 47 mm cases. Each is made in a limited series of 1,000 pieces and features the updated P.3000 in-house movement. These watches are very traditional in their design but the dials are what make them really cool. AP Diver Craving Mexican Food
Today it's been 10 years since my Mother passed. In her honor, my Diver and I came to eat some real authentic Mexican food at my favorite hole in the wall place here in Chitown.I had Totopos con Salsa Negra (chips with black salsa), Huarache de Bistec con Queso Fresco (corn masa flatbread with refried beans, steak and fresh cheese), Taquitos de Chorizo y de Chicharron en Salsa Verde (Mexican sausage and pork rinds in green sauce tacos) and to wash it down, a freezing cold Bohemia beer. New PO 8500 but which one to get
Hi Guys,I went nuts over the weekend and on impulse got myself a new 45.5mm Planet ocean 8500 with the new Rubber on steel strap. The proverbial question I am now asking is, should I have got the 42mm instead and should I have got the SS bracelet instead of the rubber strap. The rubber strap looks good on the 45.5mm according to my wife and the AD sales chap and just about fits OK (photo attached), but on the 42mm the rubber makes the watch look a bit smaller than it is and looks a bit thin on the lugs. The SS bracelet would make the 45.5mm look too big on wrist, whereas the 42mm with SS bracelet would look good (see photo of earlier 42mm PO 2500), but with rubber strap as I mentioned earlier it makes the watch look more like a 40mm.I have already been back to the dealer and came back staying with the 45.5mm PO with rubber strap, and am having 3rd thoughts about it.I would really appreciate some good views and advice.
Battle of steel
Which do you guys prefer as the best annual calendar complication in steel to get? 5726 vs 5960? I think the price is close though the 5960 is a little bit more because of the bulls eye chrono.Any thoughts?
Advice on a Datejust purchase please. New vs Vintage
Hi,I am looking at buying a datejust watch for every day wear and wanted some advice on peoples experience of purchasing Rolex's.I have seen two models that i am keen on, the Datejust oyster 36, steel and gold with fluted bezel and black dial with a jubilee bracelet, model 116233.The other is model 16078, yellow gold, Datejust 36 with black dial, this one is vintage, 33 years old from a reputable online watch seller with no box or papers.Firstly, is buying with no box and papers a big issue? Also i want to buy something i like but also with the view that it wont lose value and is there anything i should be looking out for when purchasing new vs vintage. Thanks
