Introducing: The A. Lange & S?hne Richard Lange Jumping Seconds
The Richard Lange family of watches was first introduced by A. Lange & Söhne in 2006, with the idea being to create a family of watches that reflected observation watches made by Lange for scientific expeditions, and for navigation. Since then, the family of Richard Lange watches has steadily grown to include the Richard Lange Pour Le Merite, the Richard Lange Tourbillon Pour Le Merite (and a “Handwerkskunst” version of the same) and the most complicated watch in the Richard Lange family, the spectacular Terraluna Perpetual Calendar. The overall theme of old school solutions to precision timekeeping very much remains clear, however (even the Terraluna doesn’t wear its complexity on its sleeve; its spectacular astronomical display is visible only through the back of the watch). Now for 2016, A. Lange & Söhne has introduced a new watch to the Richard Lange family: the Richard Lange Jumping Seconds. 1 OF 6 “Jumping seconds” is
scratches on hour hand
Hey guys,I'm about to pick up a 5712 ss and get rid of my 5712g. I'm quite a perfectionist and I noticed some scratches at the outer most part of the hour hand. Has anybody seen something like this before? Manufacturing defect or damaged during previous service?Would this be a show stopper for you guys when picking up this piece?-Matt
Acquiring my first Patek - question
Hello Patek lovers,I own mostly Rolex but have been enamored by Patek for a couple of years now. The piece that really speaks to me is the Nautilus 5711 in stainless. Unfortunately I am slowly finding out the more I inquire it is some kind of a unicorn piece, very hard to come by. This is a big investment for me and I want to try to purchase a brand new piece. My question to you Patek lovers and collectors out there is two-fold:1. Is there a way I could try to purchase a new piece within the US without waiting more than a few years say?2. If I had to pass on the 5711 due to lack of availability, would there be another piece that exhibits similar design characteristics within the say $30,000 price range? Thanks in advance for your time.Bharat

Rolex Accuracy Revisited
There have been countless OP/threads pertaining to the everyday accuracy of a COSC certified Rolex and those concerns are often justified (to some extent) given that one is paying a premium price for a premium mechanically engineered timepiece. That said, perhaps it is time to draw the line on unreasonable expectations and any potential disappointments. Case in point. My 16610 is currently keeping time to within +1.5 seconds per day and that amounts to roughly +45 seconds per 30 days. On the other hand, my Seiko 6T63 chronograph is running within an amazing +1 second per month. While we are comparing apples with oranges, two additional factors need to be taken into consideration. The COSC rating for a mechanical watch is -4/+6 seconds per day and for a COSC quartz model it's +/- .07 seconds per day. Anything above or beyond those figures is an added bonus. In the case of ordinary quartz watches, most non-COSC models are rated at about +/- 10-15 seconds per month and as far as non-COSC me
