AP Quality Control
Hi All, apologies for the following rant, but just needed to vent. Recently I've become quite interested in purchasing a Royal Oak Chronograph. I finally found one yesterday and was ready to pull the trigger, when I noticed a very obvious scratch on one of the sub dials. The sales representative was very embarrassed and apologetic. He took my details and promised to call when they would get the next one in. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a call later in the evening from the store, stating that they were expecting another one in this morning. The rep was extremely helpful and kept the watch sealed until I arrived. He let me open it and even removed the stickers for me to inspect it properly before purchasing. I tested the chronograph, and to my dismay the pusher got jammed, and neither me, the rep or his manager were able to stop or reset the chronograph. It's safe to say I'm really disappointed with my experience with AP so far. I thought I was very lucky to find a stainless ste
15300 First impressions
I'm about a week into owning my AP RO. Here are some of my general thoughts1) Great bracelet so comfortable to wear and light, the watch sits very flat 2) Love the sound of the 22K rotor zipping around ever so often and the looks of the rotor are just killer and a great conversation starter3) The dial face I catch myself zoning out and staring at the craftmanship4) My only negative is that the watch is a scratch magnet :( I picked up some scratches on the bezel on day 2 of ownership and I'm still not sure how it happened. But I'll wear them with pride until I send the watch for servicing~Overall proud owner and member of the AP club.

Understanding 5711/1A Grey Market Pricing
I'm in the market for a Nautilus however noticed that it is difficult to get from an AD/Boutique (long waiting lists/won't put me on). Grey market prices here in Hong Kong are around US$27.7k - 31k for the 5711/1A-010 (blue dial, steel). I also however noticed that pricing for the 5712/1A (power reserve, blue dial steel) is around US$33.4k and the 5711/1R (rose gold, full bracelet, brown dial) is around US$44-45k.My question is as follows: I understand that grey market pricing simply reflects current demand however do these levels (for the 5711/1A) still make sense? I like the piece however why not just spend an additional US$3-4k on the 5712/1A? Or an addition US$10-12k on the full rose gold version?
Patek 24 SS for the wifey
Thinking about buying the wifey a Patek 24 for this Christmas. Interested to get others views on this watch...the only small reservations I have are that its a quartz (albeit my wife likes quartz more than automatics) and the fact that it looks very similar in design to a cartier tank for women (which my wife already has one)Opinions welcomed...
