Hublot CEO Jean-Claude Biver Live on
Jean-Claude Biver is as big of a star of the rock-like the world of watchmaking. Human back Blancpain in life, Omega reinvented and is now head of the popular, if not slightly controversial mark Hublot.Tomorrow (Thursday February 10) at 10: 30 a.m. EST, Biver will be live on the air with "what is the time it Radio?" answer your questions. Want to ask him questions about his time at Blancpain? You can. You want to dare tell him that the Big Bang is also fresh as daisies in spring time? You can. It's radio live and Biver is a master of the conversation, so expect to be a great show. To appeal to "what time is?" "Radio", call (760) 683-2652. To listen to the show, go here. Should be great!
Cal 240 this or that - 5110 or 3940?
Hi all,Was already considering a Patek 3940 vs an ALS Sax Annual Calendar.. Now am thinking of a Worldtime 5110 as well (prefer the older 36mm iteration)Which would you prefer between the 3940 and the 5110? Both use the 240 micro-rotor calibre, and this is particularly pertinent as I prefer not to have the same base movement in two diffferent pieces in my collecvtion. Would probably be considering the White Gold version in both pieces.
How do you care for your PPs...
Hi all,Was wondering if you keep all your PPs on winders (assuming they are at least annual calendars) or do you let them run out of juice if storing for much longer (circa 6m to 12m+)?Also how often do you get the spring bars replaced or take it in for a quick look at PP service? Thanks so much
Just got mooned...!!!!
Zero interest in Cellini's until I saw the Moonphase. Absolutely one of the most elegant dress watches I have ever seen - and it's from Rolex!!! This must be seen in person to be appreciated. I am, and have always been, a sports Rolex wearer - Until yesterday! Doesn't get a lot of love here on the TRF but I suspect it will in the future. Took a year from '17 Basel to get to my AD. Next up will be my blue SD (fingers clicking on the desk, waiting!) Can someone help me post photos pls? I have several more photos in better lighting but between Tapatalk and my iMac I can't, for the life of me, resize the photos from my Desktop (where I moved them to) and post. Frankly, I don't know/ remember how I got this one to post. Tapatalk on my phone is all good with photos attached, etc but when I press the arrow up top right next to New Topic a window pops up Please wait until attachment finishes removing. I am most definitely computer challenged. Thanks in advance. 20180304_134900 copy 2.jpg
Rolex is just lazy..
and they don't give a rat's about their customers.Bear with me.A few new Datejusts. Ok cool..A new movement put into basically the same watch with a crown at the 6 to differentiate. A new blue dial on a pre-existing white gold GMT. A white and a black OP 39. Oh, but wait they improved the lume. A horrific new Daytona.. and finally take some pre-existing blue and red ( ok really kinda purple and kinda red ) ceramic bezels they had laying around and put them on a SS GMT. But we will give it a jubilee bracelet to make everyone swoon. They couldn't even make this a Coke instead? Lazy. Rolex you have outdone yourself in ness. Makes me long for the awfulness of what was the Ceramic Yachtmaster II release. Rolex is just lazy. Resting on their laurels. away.
