Incoming- Vintage Diver
I've always admired the Omega Seamaster 300 vintage diver. Today I was presented one during a trade- This Omega ended up on my wrist. Can't wait to find a nice shark bracelet..., Yes, it's old and worn, but I am always drawn to vintage divers from many makes...
First Panerai
I am pleased to join the ranks of the Paneristi with this purchase of a classic, pre-owned Pam 111. Thanks once again to DavidSW for his great service. (Btw, the second pic is exposed to reflect the Catalina Mountains and blue Arizona sky.)
The time has come...
For the last 5 or so years I have longed after a Panerai. It was a struggle to figure out which one I wanted, you have to admit it is a big confusing if you don't know much about the brand.I joined this forum after I purchased my first real watch, a Rolex Sub 16610. My father had worn a Sub since the day I was born...so, I had to have my own. I still have his, it was left to me after his passing. I believe it is a 5510...not sure.Anyway, the time finally came for me to get my first Pam and I decided on a Base 000. The simplicity of the timepiece is what attracted me. Since the first day I planned to purchase one, I knew, because of this forum and the posts that I would be purchasing it from DavidSW...It is scheduled to arrive tomorrow, trust there will be some photos. Many!
Datejust with ice blue or glacial dial? Aftermarket or original?
Was wondering if some of the Rolex experts could help me out on this. I know these dials typically come on platinum and day date models. I have seen some online on datejusts, typically with diamonds, but I think they are aftermarket non factory dials. So my question is:Did Rolex ever release a datejust with a factory pale blue or glacial or ice blue dial (without the flashy diamonds)? If so is there a reference number or year I can use to help me source one? Preferably with a fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet in 36mm? Thank you in advance.
Buying First Rolex
Hi all,Im new to the forums and I am looking to buy my very first Rolex Datejust. I had a look on the official Rolex website and the price was ?8050 for a 36mm however when I go to find a retailer on the Rolex site they all have the model priced at an extra ?1500. Is this normal? Or will any official retailer sell the watch for the same price on the Rolex website?I want a brand new watch so ideally dont want to go into a jeweller who deals in second hand watches. I dont really care about getting a discount but I just dont want to have to pay another ?1500 on top of Rolexs retail price.
