Waiting for Daytona-C get option on Patek 5711
A few months ago I was enjoying my friends watch collection, mostly Patek Philippe with a few Rolex thrown in for good measure. While admiring his Daytona-Cs (a white and black face) my eye caught his blue dial PP 5711/1A - what an amazing watch especially in real life. Now I understand the passion for this particular model - incredible dial, timeless design, cool crystal back, elegant simplicity and of course highest quality.Next morning, we are at the AD and I'm adding my name to the list for the 5711 even though it seems the waiting list can compete admirably with the Daytona which I'd been patiently waiting for. Oh well, you never know, perhaps we'll be debating new POTUS candidates before we see any action on these. Then surprise, a call from the AD this weekend with option to take a 5711 that just came in. What a beauty. My first PP. What election?
Rolex DD for a 5127? Pros and cons?
I'm interested in a PP 5127 (R or J) and I would likely trade my Rolex DD toward the PP. I understand they're different watches, but is this a good idea?I've seen service times on Pateks taking up to 17 months and people worrying about wearing them regularly. I'd expect mine to be (mostly) a daily wear watch. Is this crazy? Rolexes can be serviced fairly easily and quickly and they're not generally regarded as safe queen watches. Again, I know they're different, but can I expect a totally different ownership experience? Thanks for your thoughts.
It's a Hulk Easter
Some of you may remember last week when I posted a photo with my youngest and our Batman variants. Well, it inspired me to look for a Hulk for my oldest. So now the 4 year old has a matching watch with his daddy as well!Happy Easter All!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Fair price for a Explorer 2 39mm from 2009
Hi guys,What is a fair price for a Polar explorer 2 from 2009? The new explorer is to big for my frame :( But i search for a explorer that is not to old to... I am talking about a watch with box and papers included. In what pricerange should i expect to pay, or what pricerange sound ''fair'' for a explorer 2 from around 2009 and where do i have to look on when i buy it... How can i be sure to have a watch with only Original parts(inside too))
Oyster vs Jubilee Bracelet
as far as appearance goes i really like the Jubilee bracelet better than the Oyster style (although i like them both) but, would the Jubilee bracelet tend to show stretching signs sooner than the Oyster bracelet?
