SIHH 2013 Preview: Ralph Lauren Sporting World Time
The 2013 Salon International de Haute Horlogerie (SIHH), in which many luxury watch brands introduce their new models for the year, doesn't take place until late January, but one of those brands, Ralph Lauren, has offered us a preview of one of those new watches, called the Sporting World Time.The latest addition to Ralph Lauren's Sporting collection, the World Time watch has a rotating disk engraved with the names of 24 world cities, each representing one of the world's major time zones. The disk works with the second time-zone subdial at 6 o'clock (which also has a day-night indicator) to indicate the time in another zone.The dial, which has a varnished, deep blue finish, also includes a date subdial at 2 o'clock and a semicircular power-reserve indicator at 10 o'clock. Other hallmarks of Ralph Lauren's Sporting collection on the dial include the white transferred Roman numerals and white, transferred railroad-style minute track.
