Hi Breitling fans I recently acquired a vintage 806 Navitimer on a NATO and was looking for a good strap for the watch. Do any of you have any good recommendations? Any pics to show would be appreciated
Patience Pays Off
With the looming price increase, I had been talking to my (Fr. John's) AD about another watch, a 3570, which is the only new Omega that has been calling to me for the past few years. One thing that has kept me from pulling the trigger has been some reported QC issues with the new productions, so I had been waiting around patiently for a nice pre-loved one, when this beauty happened along: a mint 1974 cal 861, with the original bracelet, provenance from the Omega archives, and purring from a fresh overhaul by Shane Ede, watchmaker to Chuck Maddox himself. Calling out all Speedmaster experts! (X post)
Hi everyone, long time lurker, first time poster here! After many months of searching the net, devouring the posts on almost every Omega forum, studying C. Maddox's site, flirting with many Omegas and generally neglecting everything else in life, I bought 2 Speedmasters in 5 months! The first one, a Xmas gift for my husband, is a 1978, cal 861, a bit beat up but all in all a good deal. The second one, I simply couldn't pass up. It's a 145012 67 SP (my husband's birth year), cal 321, in brilliant condition (IMHO C sure the chronograph pusher needs to be tightened, but the hands reset to zero beautifully, it keeps time to +20 sec a day with its last service being in 1972! ), bought from the original owner (who bought it on Xmas 1967) at a good price (thanks also to the strong euro!). There is just a thing that bothers me: the dial. I read everywhere that 321 Speedys all have the metal logo dial, no exceptions. Well, mine hasn't. It has a painted logo dial, with a T swiss made T inscrip
Tudor vs. Omega
How do the two watches compare... talking about new ones. quality, etc. Whats everyone's opinion?
