Richard Mille Opens New Factory in the Swiss Jura
Richard Mille has become the latest luxury watch manufacturer to take a decisive step toward becoming a full-fledged manufacture, announcing the opening of its new case and component factory in Les Breuleux in the Swiss Jura. The new facility, called Proart, is an ultra-contemporary 3,000 square-meter (32,000-square-foot) building designed by the Chavanne architectural firm. It will make Richard Mille watch cases as well as certain movement components, including baseplates and bridges. Until recently, Richard Mille has been largely dependent on outside manufacturers with which it has developed good relationships, such as Vaucher and Audemars Piguet Renaud et Papi , for much of its movements, and on nearby Donze-Baume, purchased by Richemont in 2008, for its cases. In a press release, the company stated that the opening of the new factory is “very much in keeping with the brand's strategy” and “enables the company to further consolidate its position in a market segment f
New Diver at SIHH
I was at the AP boutique earlier today and they told that the forged carbon diver will be discontinued. Or should I say it won't be produced anymore since its only a concept model. A new full ceramic diver will replace the forged carbon one. All the yellow parts will be in orange instead of yellow. I suppose the orange will be like the Volcano ROO.
Help!! 312 or 1312?
I was seeing the Due models in the window of a Panerai dealer and they did not convince me. I'm going to decide on the other model that I liked 1312.Maybe look for some used model but I want to ask you guyswhat are the differences between model 312 and 1312.Thank you very much.
Would you buy a SD43 in gold?
My thoughts recently is I would like to try another yellow gold Rolex for a little fun. I owned the 116618lb and it was great (I have even considered looking for another). However, truth be told I want something a little bigger. My wrist is only 7 inches but I guess the 40mm case just feels a little small recently - I have been wearing a lot of AP 41 and 42mm recently so that makes sense.I think a SD43 in YG/WG or even platinum would be an amazing edition to the Rolex lineup. There is no 42-43mm sports model in the Rolex line in PM (only the YM at 44mm). Seems like it wiould fill a GAP (I am considering the skyD as a dressier watch like the DD40).what do you think?
Is this stone dial or just patina on silver dial?
I saw this watch and not sure if its the design or just mold and patina. Seller says its marble but when I searched online, none of the marble dials were even close to this one. Any idea about this dial? It is 118238, P series 2000 model. Thanks
