Omega gmt and Rolex Sub.
For 13 years I've worn a TT sub. Before that I had a GMT II. This week I added to my one watch collection with an Omega GMT. Only time will tell if it holds up, but here are my initial thoughts.Sword hands and oversized number markers: As elegant as the mercedes hands are these are so incredibly visible and the lume on this face is the as good as it gets. I think Rolex are trying to improve on lowlight visibility with the new maxi dial. The markers are painted directly onto the face, but I don't mind that at, all as it suites the overall design very well. Personally, I like the more subtle GMT hand over the Rolex.Dial: Semi gloss with a wave pattern. Not as nice as the Rolex deep gloss dial, but pleasant never-the-less.Caliber: I hear very good things about the Omega 1120, but I'll be surprised if it matches the consistency of the 3135. In the three days I've had it, it has gained three seconds and then lost them again. So far, so good.Bracelet: The Speedy bracelet is very solid. No ho
5905 Blue and 5170G on the wrist.
I was able to try on the new 5905 Blue (well new to boutiques) and the 5170 in black. I'm surprised at how much I enjoyed the 5170 in black, an altogether different feel than the white dial. More pop to the dial and the breguet numerals are very sweet. Wears beautifully too. I was a bit surprised at how soft the chronograph reset button was. I don't remember the movement behaving that way but it's been a while since I played around with the white model. The 5905 was also a surprise. The blue is done very nicely, sunburst, and sleek, but a bit more subtle than I imagined. I still don't love the font on the sub-dial, though in real life it's less prominent than in pictures. The case is big and heavy - 42mm x 14 and it feels every millimeter of it. Though the rectangular pushers lessen somewhat the visual mass. A nice piece, though I'm still not sold on the design choices. IMG_1882.jpgIMG_1889.jpgIMG_1888.jpg

Flex your Oysterflex
So I recently picked up a Day-Date and like it a lot, however all it's done is give me a hankering for a Daytona. I've got a steel model and had the 116500 amongst others in the past, but I like the look of these currently...So although I'm not asking you to choose which one I go for, as of course that will be personal preference in the end, it would be cool to see yours and hear your views in case there's anything I haven't thought of.How is the OysterFlex as a strap? Comfortable, hard wearing etc? Thanks in advance
Got a call last night... Picking it up today
Hi GuysI got a surprise call from a local dealer, whom I have never done any business with, that they have a White dial stainless Sky Dweller in. It is mine if I want it. My first choice is blue, 2nd is black. Did not really consider the white.I put a deposit down and going to look at it tonight and probably pick it up.I know the white dial is not as hot as the blue or black. But are they still hard to find? I am just a little surprised that I got the call.
