Polishing/replacing a Royal Oak bracelet ?
Guys, First and foremost, good morning to you all! I have recently noticed some scratches on my 15400ST.OO.1220ST.02 R.O. and I just can't seem to get over them. I was wondering if anybody had their bracelet polished by the AP factory, and if so, how long does this take and how much are they charging for this? Also, is it possible to refinish the bracelet alone without any intervention on the watch itself? And the second, more radical option: where would I be able to buy a replacement bracelet for my watch? Needless to say that I don't have an authorised AP dealer in my country.. Also, do you have an idea about how much would it cost to buy a new bracelet? (I'm talking steel here)Thanks and best regards,Calin
Why Haven't I Seen This in Ad's Before?
I saw this posted here on TrF actually and I was wondering why I'd never seen it in an AD.I have to admit, its been a while since an Omega has really jumped out at me but this one looks great!Has anyone seen one of these in person? And why aren't they in any of the ADs i've seen?
Would anyone here wear this?
Can't make my mind up...It's a keybolt compressor style quartz Seamaster, apparently, I have been informed from another watch forum. It's the only vintage watch I have (well, it's my dad's), and it has an Omega 1342 which is a pre Swatch Group calibre. it's in for a service at the moment but I think my dad may be planning to sell it; he wants a Rolex and I think this watch is in the firing line. Should I try to stop him? It's his to sell of course, but I may be able to sway him if I can convince him (and myself) that it is cool enough. To me it's a lovely dresswatch (I don't own a dresswatch) and a piece of Omega history but I'm also happy for him if he gets that Submariner he wants. What to do...
My 4th Omega in 3 months?
It all stared a couple of months ago when I sold my Omega America's Cup on TZ to Charlie Hustle (who is VERY happy with it!) I then purchased a beautiful Aqua Terra white face with rose gold markers on TZ and I really liked that beautiful co-axial movement I admired through the exhibition caseback but it just did not smile at me... sold it again on TZ and then it was time to buy the classic SMP Chrono which I got almost like new you guessed it... on TZ. I was looking for another classic to add to my humble collection when along came Dapper Dan with a GMT 50th Anniversary for sale on TZ... which I am now the proud owner of!Here are the pics guys hope you like them and more will follow once the watch is in my possession... Omega has definitely become my new obsession!
Rolex achievement unlocked!
It's been a long journey since 1988 when I first laid eyes on a Submariner Date. I was on vacation in St. Thomas and got to check one out.$2500. Eep! Too much money for my younger self at that time.I ended up buying a $100 Citizen that I kept until sometime after 2005 and stupidly sold (I got tired of getting new batteries and getting it pressure tested annually). I've had Omega and Doxa (keeper) and many micro brands along the way. From big to small. Always fun, but they never satisfied the craving. It's okay to have dings and scratches. That was a HARD lesson to learn and live with. If I couldn't deal with it on a $500 watch, how could I handle it on a Rolex??I've had opportunities to handle and try on several 16610s along the way. It was still calling to me. So I knew the desire was not gone.I stopped at an AD a short time back and tried on 116610LN just to see if I would like the new version, and it just did not do it for me (Though I may revisit it in the future.)I final
