Its 45.50mm case is made of grade 5 titanium, meaning that this lightweight element has been alloyed with small amounts of aluminum and vanadium and is particularly hard. It can also be polished to a brighter luster than other grades of titanium. It has a striking blue ceramic bezel whose scaling and numbers are made of zirconium-based alloy
Speedy 3570.50 - Am I missing something?
I know this is the Rolex forum, but wanted to get an opinion from Rolex owners regarding this watch. I'm familiar with the history and clearly its a classic design. It's one of the best watches I've seen on a leather strap or a NATO. I tried one on recently and it really didn't sing to me like how it does when I see it in photos. It could have been the Omega bracelet, which I'm not a fan of or maybe because I started off with Rolex I'm a bit bias. What's the opinion from owners, how does this guy work in your collection?
Your intro to Patek...
This thread is about when you first became aware of PP watches - not when you first owned one. For me it was in my teens in early high school when I would see ads for PP watches in the WSJs my dad would bring home from work. The Calatravas even in those old black and white WSJ ads were so beautiful I knew that one day I would want to wear my own. This was the year it happened for me, some 4 decades after I first saw one in pictures. What was your first intro to Patek watches?
