Piaget Altiplano Chronograph Watch Sets New Record For Slimness
For SIHH 2015, Piaget will unveil a new ultra-thin flyback chronograph, further helping them to round out their range of "world's thinnest" watches. The Piaget Altiplano Chronograph is not only very beautiful, but it finally adds another chronograph-based model to Piaget's slim men's collection. Until now, if you wanted a Piaget Chronograph you needed to get a Polo Chronograph or a Gouverner Chronograph?C two decidedly niche designs, without as much mainstream appeal as something more classic, such as this. With the new Altiplano Chronograph, Piaget is able to combine the elegance of their famous dress watch with the appeal of a sporty chronograph C all in a very slim package.Piaget claims to make "double records" with the Altiplano Chronograph. First is the world's thinnest (manually wound) mechanical flyback chronograph movement, with the in-house made Piaget caliber 883P that is just 4.65mm thick. Second is the world's thinnest flyback chronograph movement based watch case, as the P
Fortis F-43 Flieger Limited Edition Chronograph Alarm GMT Chronometer C.O.S.C. Dual Power Reserve Watch
The excessively long name of this reference number 703.20.92 LC05 Fortis watch pretty much says it akk. This is among the most complex and expensive Fortis watches I have ever seen. Limited to just 100 pieces the F-43 is a tour de force in its own right. Is it a good watch for you? Well that is for you to decide, but it does make for a good conversation piece. Its full name is the Fortis Mens F-43 Limited Edition Chronograph Alarm GMT Chonomster COSC Dual Power Reserve. Did they really need to say "Chronometer" and "COSC?" No, it is practically redundant, but they did. According to Fortis this is the first watch in the world to have a mechanical movement that combines a chronograph, GMT indicator, alarm, and have dual power reserve indicators. I believe it. What is impressive is how the Swiss watch brand was able to get all of the indicators on the dial in a nicely balanced way. They were even able to include further redundancy on the dial by printing "GMT" right next to "UTC" under the
Pre-SIHH: Introducing The A. Lange & Sohne Grand Lange 1 Lumen, With Transparent Dial
Coming to us from Glashutte, A. Lange & Sohne have taken their benchmark Grand Lange 1 model and given it a dose of of funk with a semi-transparent dial, a la the Zeitwerk Luminous.? This pre-SIHH release is a limited edition of 100 pieces, all cased in platinum, and represents the first time the trademark outsized date will be luminous. It was just last year that ALS introduced the Grand Lange 1 with an entirely new manually wound movement - this time without the second mainspring barrel - to allow for a thinner profile.? The Grand Lange 1 Lumen's sapphire crystal dial allows for the wearer to see the large date mechanism working while keeping the hours, minutes, and running seconds fully legible.? This is accomplished by making only the outer ring and the surfaces of the displays for hours and minutes as well as small seconds of blackened silver.? 2 OF 2 Click to expand The sapphire crystal sections of the dial are treated with a special coating that blocks most of
26400 - difficult to get it off the wrist
Originally it is equipped with a black rubber strap, but in summer I like to use the white version.More colors to come ...Regards,Hans
