Tsovet SVT-GR44 Limited Edition Watch
Fans of the Chip Ganassi Racing Teams will now have a new way of showing their allegiance via the limited edition Tsovet SVT-GR44 chronograph. This sporty 44mm automatic chronograph is being produced to commemorate the 145 wins that the various Chip Ganassi teams have claimed between 1994 and 2011. With teams running in Nascar, IndyCar, and Grand AM series racing, Chip Ganassi represents a very successful American racing institution. Tsovet is a Los Angeles -based brand which launched in 2008 and has become known for their gauge-like styling and punchy wrist-presence. I find their look to be somewhere in the overlap between Bell & Ross, Hamilton and U-Boat and appreciate that they offer both mechanical and quartz timepieces which all feature Swiss-sourced movements. The Tsovet SVT-GR44 is limited to 51 units and will come in a wooden display case and include a specially produced book covering the many successes of the Chip Ganassi teams. Sporting a 44mm stainless steel case with a g
42mm PO on NATO!
Hey guys! I've been searching forever for the rubber straps for my watch. I realized they were quite expensive and the 20mm straps were harder to find than 22mm. Then one day, after seeing Speedmasters and other watches on NATO bands, I came to my conclusion. I went online and bought a NATO strap for $20 shipped to my door. I used the old spring bars to install the band. The watch feels completely different, maybe it's because it's significantly lighter. Even though it's not an actual OMEGA product, I think they look great together. A perfect match! Enjoy the pictures fellas!
Patek - the basics of building a great collection
I am complete novice when it comes to Patek and would be interested in understanding what the basics are of putting together a great Patek collection (in case I win the lotto of course). What are the basic things to look for when buying a Patek? What do collectors value or dislike? What are the dos and don'ts of investing in Patek? How does the market think about/value white gold vs platinum, or rose vs yellow gold? What are the most liquid/understood watches/category of watches? How does wearing them affect the value? What are tips for trying to minmize wear?Should you try and have a strap for daily wear and one in the box?Can/should older watches be restored?Who restores them?It seems like perpetual calendar with chrono is a benchmark watch like the 1518,2499,3970,5970,5270 series. If you were going to build a collection of these as an example, should you try and have all one metal type like white gold, or vary the metals, or get one of each? How about the different series within these watche
Advice needed...
Hello TRF memebers,To commemorate my birthday and a special moment in my life in April, I was on a quest to find a Patek 5127, which has always been one of my favourites. As the model was discontinued in 2013, pre-owned was the only option, and in searching for one, I found one at Watchfinder.co.uk via their website.Having initiated the transaction on their websibe, I had the first viewing of the actual piece at their showroom in Royal Exchange in the City, the piece seemed OK at the time. In this light, I decided to go ahead with a part exchange deal for my AP + cash for it (the trade price wasn't great but I understand that they are a business). I handed them over my AP and settled the agreed difference at their Royal Exchange store but I wasn't allowed to take the 5127 there and then, as the deal was subject to them being happy with my AP. So the sales assistant took the 5127 back to the stockroom, and in doing so, she dropped the watch on their table, which is covered with some sor
Four cornered Rolex
Being the Golf player and bigger PGA tour fan that I am, I have seen Phil Mickelson Fri and today(haven't seen footage or pics of The first round) wearing a rectangular/ four cornered watch. It was pretty easy to see on zfridays round as he didn't get any coverage today on the back nine. I have followed Phil for years and know he wears whatever model on a strap opposed to bracelet. I have always thought that some if not most of his playing watches were the Cellini line. Just curious, anyone else notice this? The Motherships website has no such watches in the lineup.Thx for reading
