Basel Preview: Carl F. Bucherer Patravi EvoTec Calendar
At Baselworld 2011 Carl F. Bucherer will launch the newest member of the Patravi family, with a twist. The new model has a classic round case, and new complications. The manufacture CFB A1004 movement retains the brand’s signature peripheral rotor and adds an indication of the week to the big date, day and date indicators. Baselworld 2009 marked Carl F. Bucherer’s first step into the manufacture realm with the CFB A1000 caliber with unique, patent-pending features. In 2010, two more Patravi models were introduced: the EvoTec PowerReserve and EvoTec BigDate, both in cushion-shaped cases. At Baselworld 2011, Carl F. Bucherer will present the Patravi EvoTec Calendar, the first Patravi model in a round case. The 42.6mm case is available in stainless steel or 18K rose gold, with black or silver dials and black or brown calfskin straps. The big date at 11 confirms membership in the Patravi family, and that a manufacture CFB A1000-based movement beats inside. Your Thoughts???
Hello Friends,Lately I've been contemplating the Omega brand. More specifically the Omega 2254 (like the look and a discontinued model) and the 3570 (the only watch to make it to the moon). Just wondering what some of you Rolex/Omega collectors thought? If you own one, please show some pics and let me know how they measure up to your almighty Rolex. Thanks in advance.

The saturation point...
No doubt the Internet has fanned the sales of watches to unexpected levels. Volume of watches sold and prices have gone through the proverbial roof since the coming about of the Internet. Even during the “rough” times resulting from the Chinese authorities brief fight against corruption, etc., the demand for Swiss watches has been unprecedented. Heck, the Swiss watch industry has even survived the nefarious trend of gaudy big watches they invented all by themselves. And I must admit that even though I consider myself inmune from the mischievous cunning of the marketing leprechauns, I have fallen repeteadly into their trap and bought watches I wouldn’t have bought otherwise. However, for the past few months I have been wearing my black ceramic dial GMT every day. And the more I wear it, the more I like it and grow attached to it. It seems as if I my limbic system has finally become lucidly saturated with so many watches. And it feels good to be released from the
OK, Ive decided on my Grail.
This was an important decision in my life. After all, if we don't have dreams... what do we have? Right? Now, I LOVE my DJ 41 (Picture below). It really is everything I expected and wanted in my next Rolex. Elegant, classy, definitely attractive but not ostentatious, it has gotten more comments from both WIS and non-WIS alike then my sports models ever did; (GMT, EXP II). To me, it is the quintessential Rolex, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. BUT... like everything else in life (at least mine) as soon as I got it I wanted something better. I bought a Ford then wanted a Lincoln, I bought a Tumi bag then wanted a Gucci, I buy a DJ 41 immediately I start lusting for a PM model; ... ... I'm a sick man . So, I set off on a quest... which model Rolex do I set my sights on? PM for sure but Gold or Platinum? Sports model or Dress? I mean, these are important decisions right!??!?!?? I spent hours, toiling through the Rolex website, spoke with my fellow TRFers and
