Quincy Jones Visits Audemars Piguet
This past Thursday, on the eve of the traditional Swiss watch industry vacation, a longtime friend visited the watchmakers of the Manufacture Audemars Piguet to get an up-close look at the watch bearing his name: the Millenary Quincy Jones, which was presented at the SIHH 2010. For several years, Audemars Piguet and Quincy Jones have been associated in developing Project Q , aimed at raising political and public awareness of young people's need for self-expression and the means that must be provided to ensure they fulfill their potential. The cornerstone of Project Q is the Q Prize , an international award presented by Audemars Piguet honoring a public figure or social organization having played a central role on behalf of children. Through his Quincy Jones Foundation, the artist is also committed to helping children by improving their well-being, their health and their dignity. The new Millenary Quincy Jones watch will contribute to raising funds for this foundation. In speaking of

RGRC Update
Just got an email from AP saying that they already started production of the updated RGRC with the 3126/3840 caliber. Would you rather wait for the new movement or get the good old 2226/2840?I really like the new 3126/3840 caliber, however, I really hope that they won't increase the retail price. Since the recent price drop, the RGRC is a steal!
Avenger II GMT - Sub Alternative?
How many of you have the Breitling Avenger II GMT, how many are blue dial, and do you think it goes from T-shirt to Suit & Tie as well as a Rolex Submariner?I have a blue dial Avenger II on the way, look forward to your thoughts.
2531.80 or 2220.80 Seamaster?
I'm considering these two watches, along with the 2201.50 PO. I like the PO in a lot of ways, but I definitely like the blue dial vs the black dial of the PO, which brings me to the two standard Seamaster Professionals. The 2531.80 is the older non co-axial version of these two. It's not produced anymore but is pretty prevalent on Ebay and could be bought at a pretty low price, about $1200-1400 for a nice one. The 2220.80 is the newer model with the co-ax and would probably cost about $1700 on the resale market or $2400new.It's said that the non co-ax version should be serviced every 5 years, and that the co-ax can go 10 years without servicing. If a service costs $450-500 is it a no-brainer that I should get the new co-ax version if I intend on keeping the watch a lifetime? If I buy a used 2531.80, it will probably be several years old already and will probably need an immediate service, thus bringing it up to the price of a resale 2220.80. Are there any other factors to consider
