SIHH Preview: IWC Launches a New Portofino Collection
The original IWC Portofino ref. 5251, introduced in the early 80s, has achieved cult status. That 46mm x 6mm icon with its 16 3/4 lignes caliber 9521 pocket watch movement proved a prescient preview of things to come. This classic model now comes in a 40mm case which, thanks to a reworking of the design, makes the watch look even slimmer. Scratched New Pan
I know that with life comes scratches. Problem is that I've had my new Pan for less than a month. When I took it off last night I noticed a healthy scratch on the side casing. Now every time I look down at my watch, the scratch screams at me. Any suggestions on how to repair the scratch, or at least quiet it down?

Hey folks, just wanted to take a minute to share something from the heart (please bear with me). Every Thanksgiving, as I reflect on the things I'm thankful for, 2017 was a little different for my family and I. We had a lot of ups and some very low lows. The biggest low was losing a very good friend of mine (whom I consider a brother) to cancer at a young age of 39. He was a very dear friend of my family and we all loved him. He and his family were doing what they loved (missionaries in Guatemala taking care of young, abused girls) and God called him home early. Life is short... nothing is guaranteed. So this thanksgiving, after a long year at work, I decided to go visit my grandmother in HK with my mom. As I sat there with my 91 y/o grandmother with my mom, I couldn't help but reminisce one of the last times we were here together.
