Watches NEWS
Bell Ross has build a solid reputation with its extraordinary mechanical timepieces
The German watchmaker Bell Ross has build a solid reputation with its extraordinary mechanical timepieces. Now, the brand joins the stream of limited edition models, by launching its Kostya Tszyu watch. As its name suggests, this novelty is a respectful nod to the outstanding Russian boxer and four-time world championship winner.
VULCAIN – 50s President’s Watch
The first watch fitted with a mechanical adjustable alarm was born in the Vulcain workshops in 1947 after 5 years of development. The "Cricket function" has since become the Locle brand's signature and is so called because it makes a noise similar to a cricket when it goes off. To coincide with Baselworld 2015, the dials on the manual wind pieces from the 50s President’s Watch collection have been redesigned. The new look features a circular guilloch centre and linear guilloch hour rim in a range of three different shades of grey: silver grey, grey beige (or "greige") and mouse grey. The 42mm steel case houses the famous manual wind mechanical Cricket V-11 calibre which brings to life the time functions (hours, minutes and seconds in the centre), alarm (point which can be adjusted by the winding crown) and date (display at 6 o' clock). Price: 5’850 CHF
LiquidMetal Photos
Several have asked how the LM differs from the standard PO. I have not owned a standard but here are some shots that may show the differences.Of course the not-so-subtle caseback shouts different:Notice that all the engraving left no room for the anti-counterfeiting globe which now appears on the back of the 5:00 lug. (World Premier is a bit much IMO as is the and Only of the sapphire sandwich.)Then there are the applied numerals and Omega, red Seamaster, silver lettering and minute indexing, and if you look carefully, you will see the green [ZrO2]:The LM dial is made of the same ceramic material as the bezel and the date window appears to be cut with clearly defined edges rather than stamped as with the standard dial:And of course, the LiquidMetal is only available in the 42mm size.Fr. Your thoughts.....
Hello guys I'm getting ready to get a new piece, I'm between the Patek 5980 in SS with blue dial or the Sky Dweller in white gold with bracelet and black dial. Please let me know what your thoughts are on both watches. The 5980 is pre-owned in perfect condition and the Sky-Dweller is brand new. The price of both watches are very close to each other. I just want to get some opinion from TRF before I make my decision. Thank you guys!!!
Incoming - PAM 682
Thanks to everyone on this and main forum for their advise. Was able to score a good deal on the 682, and for me it's a 42mm or nothing given my cursed small wrists! Second day on the wrist and super comfortable. Was debating between this and Hulk but I have a SubC date (LN) and will wait for Hulk prices to come back to reality once Rolex starts supplying ADs in a few months. Happy new year everyone !Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
