A Week On The Wrist: The Linde Werdelin SpidoLite Gold
Linde Werdelin has been in the game for more than 13 years now, and it’s safe to say that they’ve honed their lightweight sports watch to suit the unique vision of founders Jorn Werdelin and Morten Linde. With each limited generation, the modular case and dial structure evolve in ways sometimes noticeable, and other times less so. At this year’s Baselworld fair, Linde Werdelin introduced the fourth generation of their SpidoLite family of watches, and while it still features exotic materials and featherweight construction, the design, and more importantly, the mechanics, have undergone some serious renovation since we last spent a week with one. Does the latest and greatest SpidoLite continue to break new ground for this forward thinking brand? We spent a week with the new SpidoLite Gold to find out. Had no idea about the AP extended warranty!
Only through the forum did I stumble upon a thread that spoke about the AP warranty. One post mentioned registering online and getting an extended warranty, which I had no idea about. I simply logged on, created an account, which took 2 minutes, and now I have an extended warranty until 2022. Funny thing is the big pitch from all the ADs were that yes, I might be paying a bit more through them but it's the only way to get a full 5 year warranty. So incase any others might be out there like me that were deceived, just don't know about this or just have not bothered to do so, it's absolutely worthwhile. Just downright deceptive of the ADs to do that.
Silver Numbers on New Planet Ocean 8500
I'm kinda on the fence about this. If the numbers are anything like the 39MM Explorer, I think I will be passing on this watch or maybe getting the orange numbers. I don't like it when the numbers disappear when turned in certain light.
Cal 240 this or that - 5110 or 3940?
Hi all,Was already considering a Patek 3940 vs an ALS Sax Annual Calendar.. Now am thinking of a Worldtime 5110 as well (prefer the older 36mm iteration)Which would you prefer between the 3940 and the 5110? Both use the 240 micro-rotor calibre, and this is particularly pertinent as I prefer not to have the same base movement in two diffferent pieces in my collecvtion. Would probably be considering the White Gold version in both pieces.
