Mademoiselle Prive Only Watch 2015
A bouquet of three camellias C Coco's favourite flower and a symbol of loyalty and happiness C glittering in white gold and diamonds: this is Chanel's contribution to the Only Watch auction on November 7th in Geneva whose funds will go to supporting the battle against Duchenne muscular dystrophy. All the expertise of the Maison Lesage, founded in 1924, has gone into the beige silk dial, a truly delicate flower bed bursting with three blossoming camellias. Each buxom bloom's silky hand-embroidered petals unfurl to unveil a natural pearl. The mother-of-pearl gleam of these precious inflorescences is elevated by the row of 60 brilliant-cut diamonds (1 carat) rimming the 37.5 white gold case. The understated time display features two leaf-shape hands which track the hours and minutes at 4.30. Unique piece C onlywatch
Hands-On: The Piaget Limelight Stella
Last week Jack wrote about the new Piaget Emperador Coussin XL 700P, Piaget’s major new release at SIHH 2016. In addition to this crazy skeletonized hybrid electromechanical watch, Piaget released some major women’s watches as well. The brand is actually better-known for its women’s watches and made a name for its high jewelry watches starting in the 1960s (see my article on Piaget cuff watches). For SIHH this year, Piaget released the Limelight Stella with moon phase, which is the most complicated in-house-designed women’s watch ever made in the brand’s history. 1 OF 9 The Limelight Stella features a new caliber 584P that Piaget tells us is entirely designed and made completely in-house, with another caliber (580P) designed for the haute joaillerie version that does not have center seconds, in order to show off the diamond-setting. The automatic winding movement has a 42-hour power reserve, minutes, hours, center seconds, and the moon-phase
AP 15400 or IWC 7 day automatic?
Curious about the overall quality of both watches - reliability, value, comfort, ownership experience, horology quotient. Any thoughts on which is a better movement and more desirable watch? They are very different but at the same time, the movements appeal to me. Thoughts on which way to go on this one?
Pic of my 'new' 2254.50
Hi all, had the camera out to take some snaps of my new-to-me Omega and I thought I'd take some of my other non- Rolex watches as well. As with most people I have a few more watches but I am far too lazy to hunt them all out! Cheers - N.
