Bell & Ross Launches BR01 Airborne in Paris
On Tuesday June 9, Bell & Ross launches its new limited edition BR01 Airborne at Colette, the Parisian fashion and style boutique. BR01 Airborne watches will be exclusively available at Colette for one week beginning June 8th. Bell & Ross is introducing the Airborne to coincide with the commemoration of the 65th anniversary of D-Day by President Barack Obama and French President Nicolas Sarkozy. The BR 01 Airborne was developed in honor of the courageous soldiers who fought during World War II, particularly the paratroopers of the U.S. Airborne divisions. The skull was one of the emblems they wore on their uniforms as a symbol of courage in the face of death. Guess what, China could care less about intellectual property rights. So copyright, trademark, and patent in infringement is just a whim away most of the time. The watch industry has had to deal with this for many years when it comes to replica or fake watches, but there are also other types of trademark infringement situations such as this. Certain Chinese mobile phone makers like to attach high-end names to phone such as this "Rolex" mobile phone. Taking out the legal issues, this is a cute if not slightly pathetic looking homage to what Rolex might be as a phone maker. ADVICE NEEDED PLEASE - Daytona and Royal Oak
Firstly, please know that I am not a habitual flipper....more of a keeper. I have a TT Sub, BLNR, Milgauss GV, 216570, and a WG DD President.I bought a new SS Daytona last Christmas which I am sorry to say I have simply not fallen in love with. It will definitely be leaving my collection.I have an offer of 8,250� from a shop here in France, which I am prepared to accept.The shop has a 41mm AP Royal Oak SS 15400 that was new in May 2013, full set, virtually un-worn. His asking price is 10,600�.....so I'm guessing I could do the trade for my Daytona and around 2,000�. There is a pic of the actual watch below. I am a Rolex man, and am new to AP.I will value my fellow TRFers advice and opinions on this possible trade....I am going to the shop tomorrow.Thank you one and all.
