Remember when we took you into the vault at Timex to show you their new Originals collection? Well at Basel, we got a sneak peek at the latest addition to the popular vintage-inspired collection - a dive watch. It looks every bit the part of a vintage diver, and is even sized appropriately for the time-period at 38mm.? It comes in a few different colors and on a few different straps, but the best part about this great looking new watch from Timex is the price - $85.You can't get much these days for $85, but you can get a nice looking knock-around watch that resembles some of the classics.? Judging from the huge response to J.Crew's Timex watch and then the other Originals pieces, this is going to be sure-fire winner.Look for these watches soon. Undated Warranty Card
I took my Omega to the local boutique to get the bracelet resized for my wrist. While they were putting links in my watch, the manager looked at my cards that came with my watch. He started to chastise me for buying a grey market watch and told me that my warranty card was undated and invalid. I retorted that you no longer sell the Omega that I wanted so I bought it from someone else. Not that I believe that I will have issues with my watch but it would be nice to have a warranty.
Have you seen the new Aqua Terra?
This is rapidly becoming my favourite Omega. Great looking watch - very similar in look to the Datejust, but just a fraction bigger - and has one of the nicest finished movements inside it I've ever seen. They're using a very similar movement to the one found in the De Ville Hour Vision, and has their Si14 balance spring in. Very nice watch, very well made, and quite a lot cheaper than a Datejust: £2600 compared to the £3300 of an entry level DJ.

Patek Philippe Museum - Geneva
I was under the misperceptions that the museum was a special history to PP themselves, but was completely mistaken! Covering 3 floors it's dedicated to horology as a whole. One floor shows the various benches, engraving machines, chain making etc of a typical workshop and has a resident watch maker that you can observe through glass. He is only present during the week. The next floor has a collection of over 1000 pieces from the earliest watches, automoters and ink chronographs. It was fascinating to see that the first chronograph actually dropped ink on the dial that you would then read off and clean. I thoroughly enjoyed the automations in particular a tiny hummingbird that fully moved wings, neck and beak and couldn't have been bigger than 2cm. To think that level of craftsmanship was available in those times wis mind boggling. We then have a floor dedicated to PP. That includes all the enamel watches and clocks and the journey of their different models and relationship with Tiffany a
