TAG Heuer CEO Jean-Claude Biver: Our Exclusive Baselworld Q&A
Jean-Claude Biver has been quick to action as the new CEO at TAG Heuer C restructuring the brand, introducing new Carrera models, announcing an exceptionally economical tourbillon watch, and soon, the brand’s own smartwatch. Learn more in this exclusive interview conducted at Baselworld by Rdiger Bucher, editor-in-chief of WatchTime’s German sister magazine, Chronos.RB: Mr. Biver, what is your strategy for TAG Heuer?JCB: The strategy remains the same. Only a certain amount of creativity and development has been shifted from the upper segment to our core business area. We’re making a shift by redistributing our forces.RB: Where does TAG Heuer have its core business?JCB: In the price range between 2,000 and 5,000 Swiss francs. We’ve invested the most in this price range. Let me show you something. (He shows me the new Carrera Calibre Heuer 01.)RB: Will this be the new look for the Carrera?JCB: Yes. Any information on Emergency 2?
Spoke to a salesperson at an authorized Breitling dealer and was told Emergency 2 is coming out next year but no details were shared. Any info on this?
Kind of unexpected love for the perpetual
I've been trying to get into the brand for the last year via stainless Nautilus....I think most can guess how well that's going with the environment now. I dropped by the local AD and was checking out the small inventory (expected) and got pricing for the 5146g (which I'm interested in also to possibly be the first to get into Patek) along some other models...been chatting with the sales guy since he lives around me for awhile now so he decided to pull out a 5320g to offer since the knows I'm a watch guy.....the only real problem I can see is the price....watch absolutely blew me away in so many ways. He mentioned discounts are small even with models like the 5146.....didn't ask for the 5320 but didn't sound like they'd discount. Just wondering what you guy's experiences are with your dealers when dealing with a piece like the 5320. I might actually be in the real line I'd imagine if I went this direction. Thanks in advance to that big Patek guys here for advice.
Nautilus 5711-1a-010
Hello I have an opportunity to order a Blue 5711-1a-010 and receive it in a few to several months. It will be my fist PP purchase after two Rolex incl a SS Daytona 116520 which is incredible. Can anyone who owns or is familiar with the 5711 give their opinions on it. Fans say that the 5711 is their favorite PP period.? I have seen a video of problems with the clasp opening on its own and if it is as light at the steel aquanaut that raises concerns for me. Thanks
