Best AP for me... Sofar....
Just got my hands on a like New 15300st! A model I've been lusting for ever since I got my first AP back in 2012. What a comfy and superb looking model this is. May I say... Perfection! Been sporting my Aquanaut since I got it almost daily. Well it must now give way for some wrist time for the 15300. Blue dial would have been the ultimate combo, but I wonder if AP SC could change this for me at some point. Well the black isn't exactly bad either!
First disappointing AP Clearwater service
I guess I've got to vent since I've been without my ROC for two months. I sent it in to Clearwater in October for a malfunctioning chronograph with a letter explaining the problems I was having. I was really excited to get a call from AP yesterday and even more excited when I came home from work to see the FexEx package sitting on the table. When I got to the watch, it looked perfect. But sadly, I'll be without it again for awhile because the hour hand of the chronograph still doesn't move despite a full movement service and $1400.The other disappointing thing is that on the timegrapher, it is running +10-12 sec/day. It should have been regulated and should be running at or near COSC specifications. Isn't this part of service? Now Betsy and the gang at AP have been wonderful to deal with and I know AP will make it right, but it is frustrating because after two months, the whole reason for which I sent it in was not addressed. The cynic in me thinks that the watch service industry
Omega SM300 - Possible trade - Please help
Hello all, I would like to get your opinion on this Omega. I am curious if anything looks out of place, based on some searches I have done the numbers on the bezel seem incorrect. I have come across several different dials, but the dial seems to be correct although it does not say 'swiss' on it. I have searched on ebay to give me a price guideline, I found these are nearing 1,400usd and up, however that is for refinished watches and NOS, everything I found is in better condition than I believe this one to be. If at all possible, based solely on these pictures(assuming watch is in good working order), could you ballpark a figure for this?Any tips/advice are greatly appreciated, A big advanced thank you!OmSM300Date11711007.jpgOmSM300Date11711005.jpg
Just so comfortable for the weekend
I love the brushed bezel on this watch and the way the sapphire crystal sits flush with the surface of the bezel.Patek5167.jpg
Biggest Rolex Store in US Has No Sports Models
So, I walk into the massive Rolex boutique in NYC this afternoon, the one that’s in the same building that houses the U.S. Rolex headquarters .... and not one steel sports model was available, and only a couple of yellow gold models. No Subs of any sort, no Deep Seas, GMTs, no Explorers or IIs, and of course no Daytonas or the new SD. Nothing. Just hundreds of other models, such as DJs, DDs, and women’s watches. Sales rep told me they won’t get any more until after Christmas. Not sure if that’s BS or not, but it seems insane that the stock at the biggest store/dealer in the U.S., which I believe is run by Wempe, doesn’t have any basic sports models heading into the holiday buying season. I knew this was going on in Europe, but I assumed you could still get a steel Sub, for example, with relative ease at a dealer. I assume it’s like this elsewhere across the U.S. Go figure.
