Harry Winston Shanghai Pavilion Watches For China
I normally don't cover boutique openings (so I am not likely going to start now) but in conjunction with the opening of their new Shanghai Pavilion boutique, Harry Winston released not one but five new limited edition models. None of these are novel per se mechanically -but offer some very beautiful interpretations of things we have seen from the brand as of late. This year Harry Winston released their new Premier Feather collection of watches that showcased a unique form of real feather marquetry on the dial. Craftsperson Nelly Saunier delicately produces each dial by hand (about seven hours each) using hand-picked feathers. Some bird's nakedness is your gain with these Harry Winston Premier Feather Limited Edition Shanghai watches that feature stunning red and black feathers. These pieces come in a 36mm wide case lined with diamonds and will be limited to just eight pieces.Ladies win in this round having three limited edition models, but men get something as well (two pieces). Hodinkee - Talking Watches with Jean - Claude Biver
Another excellent instalment of Talking Watches.I never realised that Jean-Claude Biver was a PP collector.(I still can't stand Hublot's though )
Any UK members going to this ?

Something I would like to share with my friends in the Forum.
Something I would like to share with my friends in the Forum. I have a feeling of disenchantment with Rolex for what is happening with the shortage of models that we can access by purchasing them directly from an official dealer. The only example was the Daytona but now it seems that it will be extended to many models that are not worth stating because we all know what they are and which in my opinion we will never be able to reach them unless we contact a gray dealer that we know that they do have all the models. I would prefer that the prices are the ones that correspond but that we can access them in a normal way. I saw a Daytona advertisement that showed the price of $ 12400 in the photo and offered it to more than $ 20,000. It is simply ridiculous.I'm not questioning the policy of Rolex because we are all free and we do what we want but my disappointment in particular is great and really moves me away from the brand that I admire so much. I use this brand since 1970 or a little ea
Change of tide in supply?
In one of my local ADs windows yesterday, the following;Steel LN GMT IIBoth Polar and Black Explorer IIsTWO! Milgauss GVsBoth Black and Blue Bimetal SubsBimetal GMT (the black one,Not the new one )Bimetal black DaytonaI have not seen this selection all at once in a Yorkshire AD in a very long time. Not seen a steel GMT in an ADs window in over two years!Note these are all brand new and the AD in question doesn't put 'spoken for' watches in the window.Things have got that bad up 'ere' that even bimetal Subs and GMTs were a rare sight,is this a fluke or a sign that things are improving?Did not make a difference to me as it will be a few years before I consider whether I want another Rolex.Guess that is the result of buying my grail, two years in with my 18ct sub and honeymoon still isn't over
