Buben & Zorweg Magnum Luxury Watch Safe
Since its establishment in 1995, Buben & Zorweg has transformed from a small firm producing packaging for high-end timepieces and jewelry into a manufacturer of watch winders, fine mechanical watches and - since 2008 - luxury safes as well. This time we are looking at the brand's latest safe called the Magnum, designed to be a solution for (nearly) all problems of the concerned watch collector.Safes play a subservient role most of the time. They are heavy, cold, uniform and (mostly) uninteresting objects which only serve to protect the rare, the unique, the brittle and the priceless that is stored inside. The problem this creates is the stark contrast between the aesthetics, the sentiment and the general 'mood' represented by ordinary safes and the invaluable objects which they are meant to keep secure. Christophe Claret X-TREM-1 Watch
Mr. Claret, I will take five! That ought to do just fineHere is another super high-end, experimental, and unique exotic luxury watch designed to stimulate the masses and end up on the wrists of just a few. It is true that including variations on the word "extreme" as part of the name of something quickly went out of style a few years ago (do you recall when everything was "eXtreme?!"), in this case I will give Christophe Claret a pass because he turned the name into a acronym of sorts. "XTREM" stands for "Experimental Time Research Engineering Mechanism." Wait, doesn't that pretty much everything CC releases these days?Extreme or pristine, the X-TREM-1 watch is both visually interesting and technically fascinatingand it uses magnets! Not impressed? I actually am because magnets are the traditional enemy of mechanical watches. Nothing like magnetism to totally screw up the operation of precisely moving parts. Ever wonder why "anti-magnetic" watches are a big deal? In the X-TREM-1 magnet
Which AP should be the first AP?
Hello,I'm working on figuring out which should be my first. I lean towards the larger models because my wrist can handle it, have a few Panerai 47mm and no problems there. Wrist is about 7.5. Any suggestions? - I am gravitating towards the old safari or steel diver on bracelet. Thanks!
Anyone have platinum Schumi?
Just curious... Would love to see some live photos!!!
