Patrizzi & Co. New York Auction Generates $2,901,850
Sales in the Patrizzi & Co June 15 auction reached nearly $3 million with 145 of the 233 lots sold. The top lot was a minute repeater by F.P. Journe, featuring Grande et Petite Sonnerie striking chimes, which sold for $400,000. An eight-day Cartier Mystery clock with platinum, rock crystal and diamonds made in the 1940s attained $280,000. An 18k yellow gold Patek Philippe World Time with a cloisonn�� enamel dial fetched $140,000. There was tremendous interest in this auction from clients in Asia, especially China and Hong Kong, said Philip Poniz, vice president and chief expert at Patrizzi & Co. These customers purchased a range of items, from pocket watches to modern wristwatches. The company held previews in Hong Kong and Shanghai, where Patrizzi & Co. opened offices in 2009 and 2010, respectively.About 40 people attended the auction in person. Patek and LE Coultre "Barn Finds"
Hey,This story should be about as believable as a prince wanting to send all his money to you via bank wire transfer, but if anybody is willing to look and respond, it would be appreciated. My uncle just purchased a home. He had a ton of trouble dealing with the seller, but they finally made a deal.When my uncle went to the house after the owner vacated, there was a hole in the ground in the backyard that was definitely not there before. In the hole was a large open safe with its contents emptied except for another medium sized safe which he left (I am guessing intentionally, as it is impossible to miss a medium safe inside a large safe). My uncle had the safe opened, and in addition to some silver coins from the 1800s and gold rings, there were 2 watches. One Is a Patek, the other a LeCoultre Mystery dial. I was wondering if anybody can tell me the reference number of the Patek. It looks a lot like the 2552, but seems to be smaller than 36mm and the indicies are different from the 255

My wife saw a watch at our local AD - the Patek Philippe 4920. Problem is, it's a quartz - and a lot of money. Is a quartz ever worth a lot of money? Your opinions, please.

The daytona fits perfect, what else would?
Hi guys,I own a few tudor/rolex watches. The Black bay, GMT and daytona. My wrists are quite small, however the way the daytona case curves its fits my wrist so well. The GMT and BB in comparison are bulky and just not as comfortable. Are the Day Dates a similar style of case? Also any other brands to avoid/look in to.Thanks
