The Arnold & Son DBS and DBG Watches
Arnold & Son has announced two new models into their Instrument range of Swiss high-end mechanical watches. The new models, called the DBS and DBG, offer dual time displays integrated into a single movement with each display being managed by a distinct barrel, gear train, escapement and balance. These new models are physically very similar and feature the same 44mm case, anti reflective sapphire crystal, sapphire display back and both are water resistant to 30m. Speaking to their complications, they are similar but have been designed to suit different purposes. One of the coolest tourbillons we saw at SIHH in January was A. Lange & Sohne's Richard Lange Tourbillon "Pour le Merite."? This is the watch, designed after a 19th century pocketwatch (pictured below), that has a dial that is only fully visible during half of the day.? The point of the disappearing dial? Simple, really. The folks at ALS just want the wearer of this Pour le Merite to be able to view the fantastic tourbillon that he or she is paying for.The Richard Lange Tourbillon is a regulator, with the minutes being displayed on the top dial while hours on bottom right, seconds via the tourbillon at bottom left. During the hours of 12-6, half of the hour dial is missing to display the full tourbillon.? Once the watch hits 6, the dial pops back into place and a full circle is displayed again.? As this is a "poure le merite" watch, it is driven by a fus��e and chain transmission to ensure regular power delivery while the watch is being wound and as it works through its power reserve.On

White Side
I very much want to defend Omega. I LOVE the two that I've got. But I just can't understand the thought process behind this watch. I just can't imagine it's going to have a large appeal. And this is going to be a watch that is produced in large numbers. Too big for a lady, and I can't imagine many dudes wearing an all white ceramic watch. To be honest, I kind of like the 4 new DSOTM black watches. I can see how they will sell. I can't see the white one having much appeal.
