Cost Of Entry: Rolex Watches
"Cost of Entry" is a new column series on watches-dealer that explores what it costs to purchase the least expensive model offered by a popular watch company. In?each installment, we will?seek out and discuss in detail the most affordable currently available model from some of the most desirable watch brands on the market. We will mostly focus on men's watches unless we specifically mention otherwise. The goal is to discover what the cost of entry is if you want to own a new watch from many of the most famous brands as well as some of our favorites. Not stopping there, we will also analyze how much you are getting for your money, and perhaps, how much you are missing out on when you consider what qualities the brand is most known for, as well as what some obvious alternatives are.We decided to start off with none other than Rolex,?the brand?millions of people around the world aspire to own.?Over its history, Rolex has grown to become not only a benchmark to which many others in the watc
My First Grail Watch: Robert Michelsen Of Michelsen Watchmakers
Welcome back to an original watches-dealer feature, "My First Grail Watch." In this series, we ask prominent people in the watch industry about the first timepiece that they lusted after. Today, we're speaking with Robert Michelsen, a fourth-generation watchmaker who, along with instructing students, oversees production for Icelandic brand Michelsen. Read on to learn what grail has eluded him, even to this day.watches-dealer (ABTW): Who are you, and what is your relationship to the watch industry?Robert Michelsen: My name is Robert Michelsen, and I hail from Reykjavk, Iceland. Looking at AP, have some Q's re 15400
1) I typically like a bit of weight to my watches. How much does the 15400 weigh in stainless?2) Is the 15400 robust enough to reasonably handle the day to day wear like a Rolex Submariner can?3) Can anyone recommend an AD in the Toronto area? I'm leaning toward the blue face, do they typically discount and how much.Thx in advance.
Which Breitling was this please?
The other day I saw a guy wearing a Breitling I really liked the look of. I didn't think to ask about it at the time, and now can't find it on their website, so guess it was an old model.Basically it looked like a smaller Avenger II, with date at 3 o'clock, 3 subdials, stick hands, and what looked to me like automatic / sweep centre seconds.Any ideas what this might be - were the older Avenger II's about 39mm, with centre seconds?
Breitling SOH..
just as i was bored , and you mainly see the black dails, here some shots of the brown dail.... i bought this watch in the spur of the moment, and it seen hardly any wrist time, and was mosly collecting dust, however the spark jumped over and i fell in love with it... Pic's just dont seem to capture the true color but its quite stunning..
