Help me Identify this Watch???
Any help in advance is appreciated. I do not have a tool to open the case back unfortunately. This was my grandfathers watch and I think it's a cool design. It is gold plated it seems. There aren't many marks other then what's pictured. My question is from about what year, and what model? I know it's probably all speculation until the movement is opened but any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Advice & Info Request - 5296 Sector Dial
Hello all,I've decided my next watch will be a Calatrava, and I'm about set on the 5296G sector dial, and recently found one pre-owned for sale. It's from 2006 and comes complete with certificate and box etc. Anyway, came up with a couple of questions if anyone can help or has advice.1) how much will a complete service and polish at PP cost, and how long will it take?2) has PP changed the movement (or case, dial etc.) since 2006 or would it be identical to a new model? 3) the watch has light scratches and has clearly been worn frequently, although nothing that shouldn't come out with a polish. What is a fair price? Thanks for any help!!
Did I get scammed? Did the authorized dealer sell me a used one as NEW??
I was showing my 5127 to my watch dealer friend and he was looking at mine with a loupe. And he discovered, to my dismay, that my new patek which I purchased in 2013 had been polished, as the gold engraving the dog hallmark was barely visible. Here is the engraved dog hallmark on my new patek that has never been polished by meImageUploadedByTapatalk1412690496.380975.jpgHere is what it's supposed to look like on another white gold Patek Calatrava (5296G)ImageUploadedByTapatalk1412690544.930828.jpgAlthough it's a pretty lousy picture you can see little lines in the dog, which are details that are completely missing on my hallmark.Nothing is there on my dog under the loupe!!What do you guys think? My watch dealer friend says that this has DEFINITELY been polished.I cannot believe my watch was used and sold to me as new.I'm traveling at the moment and don't have my macro lens with me so I could only take these shitty photos with my phone and a loupe.
The PAM I want....does it exist?
I'm looking for a PAM with the following qualities:-Radiomir with wire lugs-Sandwich dial-47mm-Only hour and minute hands-No date-A manual wind (preferably)Any suggestions?
Some DEEP thoughts...!!!
I've now had my DeepSea for 8 daysAnd having worn it all day, every day during that time, I thought I would pass along just a few of my own personal observations of a watch that seems to polarize people more then mostWhen first picked up and held in hand, the watch demonstrates a incredible heft One that causes even the most ardent watch enthusiast to pause and exhale deeplyBut once on the wrist, I found the extra weigh to miraculously vanish entirely I've heard comments from people about a Top Heaviness or Floppy feel when wornBut I must say that I found, in my case anyway, for this not to be soThe watch seems to sit atop my wrist where it belongs with no more movement then either my 1665, 16660 or 16600 ever hadIn fact, the watch wears and feels no different on me, then any other Sea Dweller I have ever ownedAnd I tend to wear all of my watches a bit looseThe biggest issue people seem to have, based on what I have read, is the thicknessNow there's no getting around i
